PatW Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 Today my latest in this genre, a Hawk Wild Woodie which is identical to the Hawk Sandpiper and similar to the AMT Surf Woody..... With it's twin the Sandpiper......... And with the Surf Woody.....
Dave Van Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 Very cool work!!!!! I have two of the kits and have thought about a detailed build.....using parts to make it more detail....like a motor etc.
cobraman Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 Nice ! Don't see them built too often, or ever !
PatW Posted November 28, 2019 Author Posted November 28, 2019 Thanks guys. My best shot of the roof section is this..................
Snake45 Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 Very cool! You probably now have the World's Largest Collection of this genre.
Tom Geiger Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 Cool! I have a Sandpiper squirreled away in my dune buggy collection. It is a clunky thing, with bad early 1960s molding and all. But it's part of our history! Many years ago I bought an eBay auction for two Sandpiper rebuilders. I saw it towards the end and it was cheap so I bid quickly without looking too closely. What comes in the mail? Two Surf Woodies! And that was right after the reissue and eventual blow out sale at $5-10 each so I didn't want them. I messaged the seller, who saw his error and refunded my money. He told me to keep them, so they are somewhere in my hoard!

PatW Posted November 28, 2019 Author Posted November 28, 2019 Thanks guys, I like these so much because we didn't get anything like this in the UK at the time, 60's-70's.
Silver Foxx Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 These look great , I like them , well done .
