stavanzer Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 Yea, I agree with you, Tom. I'd like to see a gentle purge of board members. Say, anyone who has not posted since 2010? That would be generous enough to lurkers who come back after a break in the hobby.
NYLIBUD Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 The boss, whose the boss?Did I miss something?

NYLIBUD Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 Oh great, his music bores me, kinda like Billy Joel. Here on Long Island, that’s all they play,Billy Joel.?
SfanGoch Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 (edited) You should listen to WLIR.FM to get deprogrammed. Then, take a ride past the old Calderone Theater, in Hempstead. The Spirit of Jerry Garcia will exorcise the Billy Joel demons. Edited December 25, 2019 by SfanGoch

I had suggested years ago that board management delete profiles that hadn’t been accessed in maybe 5 years. Two reasons, first it would make the directory easier to use and a lot of those had clever user names that new people may want to use. I know there is a post on the forum where a member wanted to use a certain user name which, IIRC, may have been from a role playing game. The person who had taken it had put up 1 post, many years ago. On 12/24/2019 at 1:23 PM, alexis said: Say, anyone who has not posted since 2010? This is one reason that I keep trying to bring this subject back to where it started. Someone can start a "Bash or Praise Mr Springsteen" on another thread.

I know I didn't.

I suspect there’s a a bit of resentment knocking around from people who didn’t realise what the message of “Born in the USA” was until too late... Whatever you think of his politics, in the rest of the world Springsteen is up there with Dylan, Pete Seeger, Leonard Cohen and Prince as a Great American Songwriter... best, M. All great entertainers Matt. But calling Leonard Cohen American is like if I called you Australian. ?

I don't know, you'll be telling me next that legendary country singer k.d.lang is Canadian... ? Apologies... that post was not my finest hour, hence the fact it's now been replaced by "***" best, M.

I won't tell you that. ,, K.D. is now "Adult Contemporary" since she peeved off all the beef ranchers in Alberta. ??
DPNM Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 May as well just let the Moderators decide amongst themselves. As to Mr Springsteen. I had the Born to Run album. The song I liked most was "Night". Then again, at the time, I owned a 1967 Corvette coupe and a 1973 custom Harley SuperGlide. Never bought another album.
