JollySipper Posted June 6, 2020 Author Posted June 6, 2020 It's together for the last time! and I've gotten the engine bay all buttoned up....... All that's left is to finish the header, then it's on to Under Glass......
bisc63 Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 Amazing how much the red stripe adds to those wheels! Nice build.

DupliColor makes a vinyl dye that I've used on this..... it has a nice sheen like vinyl/leather would have. Thanks for looking and for all the helpful comments! I always liked the 1983-'88 Thunderbirds, even though the '87 was an evolutionary restyle. I occasionally watch for one, preferably with a 302. The interior looks about right for Ford's "scarlet red" interior. How did you get the cloth inserts to come out so nicely? Charlie Larkin
Spottedlaurel Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 It's looking good! The lowering and wheels have worked well. Does the nose have to be fixed on after the body and chassis are fixed to each other? I've just 'accidentally' got one of these off eBay and I'm thinking about what to do do with it (eventually). Some very useful build info in this thread.
espo Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 Great looking interior. I like your engine detailing and the way the body is trimmed.
JollySipper Posted June 19, 2020 Author Posted June 19, 2020 Thanks a Bunch, Guys! Charlie, I had an '83 V6 T-Bird when I was 16.... It rode better and was something different from the Mustang that everyone else wanted. The inserts on the seats is just brushed-on craft paint from Apple Barrel called "Flamenco Red"..... Nigel, I'm not sure that the nose HAS to be joined on last, but that's what the instructions call for......... It's tedious enough that it stalled this a bit until I can manage a clean way to do it...... I don't think you could place the headlight buckets if the nose was joined to the body, tho..... Thanks, David!
TransAmMike Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 I once owned an 87 Turbo Coupe, Black with red interior and 4-speed. Was an absolute fun and comfortable car. That turbo 4 was amazing and boy you could sure feel the boost when the turbo kicked in.
rustybill1960 Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 Very sharp build TJ Thank You for sharing with Us here
