avidinha Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 This is a slush cast resin Airstream trailer. It came with the windows molded in and it's hollow inside but I wanted more depth so I cut the windows out and made clear windows out of plastic and hung curtains behind them. I used some resin wheels and scratch built a bagged tounge. The paint is Krylon foil metallic silver over a gloss black base. Enjoy. I'm going to set it up behind my Suburban when it's done.
iamsuperdan Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I like it! Could turn that into a very cool diorama.
ChrisBcritter Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Nice job, and I'm intrigued by that Krylon Foil paint. Did you buff it out, or is it straight from the can?

Edward Gore Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Very cool. What are the curtains made from? Are they textile material or color prints?

bobthehobbyguy Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Nice start. Very nice work so far. Definitely need to check out the krylon foil paint.

Lunajammer Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 That's quite a tank. Someone could have a lot of fun steampunking the dickens out it. Great choice on the paint, I'll have to look into that.
bh1701 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Is the Krylon Paint that you used their "Premium Metallic" product? I looked at the Krylon site this was the only one that showed a "silver foil" color. There were only a few reviews for the product, but several mentioned that "the paint was a beautiful smooth finish.....until it was touched. It leaves a dust like residue that wipes off on anything it touches" and that it easily loses its shine when touched by anything. Have you had any issues? Thanks, Bart

It's like Molotow chrome in that you can't touch it for a while or it will dull.
