What is bizarre, is that this is actually real. Planter's Peanuts actually posted on their Twitter feed that Mr Peanut, their marketing mascot, is apparently dead.

From Wikipedia...

Quote

On January 22, 2020, Planters released a teaser for its Super Bowl LIV commercial featuring Wesley Snipes and Matt Walsh. The trio were shown hanging onto a branch after accidentally driving the Nutmobile off a cliff, with Mr. Peanut electing to let go and fall to his presumed death onto the Nutmobile, which then suddenly explodes. The company's social media outlets declared Mr. Peanut to have died, although a company spokesperson told Advertising Age that they had not ruled out the scenario being a comic book death.

Quick go to the market and buy up all of the products still on the shelf with Mister Peanut on the wrapper and hid them in your safety deposit box at the bank. Just think how much these items will be worth in time to come.

Almost as much as New Coke or Hostess Twinkies, I'd imagine. B)

Haha.. The founder started his business in my home town. They tore the factory down, but kept the corporate office building as a landmark. Kinda looks like an old bank.

Don’t worry, Mr Peanut will be back.
