Just a little simple Airfix 1/32 scale kit . Not a bad kit but the two body sections did not want to fit together well . Painted red and gold . I made the two splitters (?) on the front as kit did not include them .

I have always liked the look of this race car, but it was a dismal failure once it got out on the track.  Too bad,   Ford kept attempting to improve on the GT40 design, but after the MK 4 , nothing seemed to work out for them.

Yes, I believe so. They come 2 ways, as just the kit and also as a kit with paint and brush. Mine was found on the bay as just a kit and I think I paid 20 bucks with shipping. Happy hunting.

There are 5 on ebay now. Best deal is a kit only in new condition for 17 bucks with 9 dollars shipping. The decals in mine were no good and had to find an after market suppler with the correct scale gumballs.

Very nice build of a rather basic kit! It’s not really a Ford car like the GT40: it was a privateer offering “with help” from Ford, intended to take the Ford-Cosworth DFV F1 engine into sports car racing, and run by Alan Mann Racing (hence the red and gold scheme). Just goes to show that sometimes “if it looks right, it’ll fly right” doesn’t work. At a glance it doesn’t look much different from a Porsche 908, but it wasn’t the DFV engine that didn’t work in competition...

best,

M.

Thanks guys. I wish I could have fitted the two piece body together better. They fit good when I dry fit them before assembly but after the interior was installed they just would not mate well.
