Plowboy
Like the ones that come with their kits? I typically paint them. But, if they work well, I may give them a shot. My thinking is that they will be difficult to get on without wrinkles. Then what happens when you install the wheels or do you install the wheels first? If you have a photo, please post them. Yahshu
While I don't have pics at present, I clear gloss the tires, apply the decal then spray semi gloss to seal, the gloss assists in no wrinkle placement, works a treat for me. I might mention that when you're applying the decals and they don't want to lay down a little Solvaset can help. You mention the way that you have to man handle installing the tires on the wheels. This is a very valid concern. I'm at that stage on a build I'm working on of a Revell '50 Olds. Fortunately for me the build is being done with Black Wall Tires. I have my doubts if even their Pad Printed White Walls would survive my installation techniques.
Plowboy
I'm thinking I'll just stick to painting them. I'm not that good with decals anyway.

We can do anything we put our minds to & I "believe" you can do an awesome job with patience. I look forward to seeing your results.
Dave G.
I've been painting my white wall tires but recently tried Stynylrez white primer as the paint and liked the results, just it took two coats is all. Then I was watching some CCCP videos ( the guy builds great stock vehicles generally just from kit parts with an eye for detail and good paint techniques) and in one video series he showed how he makes white walls from paper. And he makes them look awesome, I found the circle cutter he uses at amazon but I have not bought one nor tried his technique yet. Don't know if I ever will, just thought I'd mention it. You can probably find the video series at youtube. His videos are always worth a look see if you're into older model cars..
Jon Cole
I have used tire decals on numerous Nascar racers, and goldwalls on a Chaparral. But no whitewalls from a water slide decal. Joe Wheat used to (still?) sell die-cut whitewalls stamped on 3M labels. I have had them on models for decades. Are they all one size or do they have different o.d.? I very rarely use the same size tires front and rear. So, I need smaller o.d. for the front tires. The tires on this pickup are what I usually paint. It's not a big hassle to paint them. But, if I could find something as easy as those and they have different o.d., I would use them. Bugatti Fan
Rather than getting ready punched whitewalls invest in an Olfa Circle Cutter that is a little tool for cutting out circles for artwork. It is used like a compass and can be set to different diameters so you can cut whatever diameters you want. Just make sure that you cut the outer circle first when cutting a whitewall. As there will be a point mark in the middle a series of outers can be cut and then a series of inners by relocating on the mark for each. Draggon
Does anyone remember Vinyl Nation Decals? His whitewalls were pretty popular 5 or so years back. It might be worth it to check him out. His website indicates he's still in business. https://vinylnationdecals.storenvy.com/?page=
