Hi everyone, just finished MPC’s spirit of 57. This is another kit that I had as a kid and lately I’ve been buying some of them again as they come around. I’d say this is mostly OOB, but I did some changes. I cut the front bumper off the grille and added a “moon” tank. Added plug wires. Wheels and tires are out of the parts box, but rear tires are from the kit. The decals are scavenged from spare sheets and I used whatever I thought looked good, even if they are from actual cars. Paint is Testors Pure Gold with BMF. I have to say the fit of most pieces was good but a lot of flash etc to clean up. All in all a really fun build! Thanks for looking!! ?9DB3110C-69B9-45EC-BEE5-A47A0DC85A1F.thumb.jpeg.9caea03a788c0f4536694ea5dd6089da.jpegFBDF25AB-A4CE-4FB6-8CA1-0B6C9C8B96E8.thumb.jpeg.40ccd421218b6c07efba2b94b2ae341e.jpegCA4A4E62-59D2-42F3-A059-AC403B60952C.thumb.jpeg.c0a759e060d331b2d0c13435992ea422.jpeg2C23A7C1-B975-4A54-B15F-F59B59ABE4B2.thumb.jpeg.2e55638f9d6950b99a99c985a89a14e3.jpeg7E768A9F-10C1-4498-AF67-BACB6DA04B1D.thumb.jpeg.1c15537a59fffcb6c7e12e362bd73af6.jpegAE72466A-29FB-4280-98C3-40076B53A491.thumb.jpeg.cb245f35957623ffb0ea6aa90e11e78f.jpeg5312D41A-97FA-4CE6-A381-55BF64F55E92.thumb.jpeg.3beb70d0cc1c80bc1662c7983b59061b.jpeg6C403CBF-7280-4771-9AB3-A936085603B0.thumb.jpeg.db5a4ff24727050e289dd05796373e6c.jpeg1F6B9A5B-94BB-435D-9757-E76AEFF01ACE.thumb.jpeg.52ee54481d7e3264155badb3c6833127.jpeg76D5519B-5A8F-40B2-8949-CA0AB1FF46BD.png.0bb7da2863c91c52dde56c1e529541a3.png56A7583A-E4CF-4402-9A66-42C140A3E4BD.png.4257f20b5bf267f12589709ab629c7d8.png91C8B00A-36FB-4848-B575-4253702AC604.png.5cebf1f71d76db4080cf7cd8ed895907.png

Mighty fine looking Gasser.  Looks like it just rolled out of the 60's.  Nice choice of color, adds to the overall look.

That has to be one of the sharpest builds of that kit I've ever seen.

Two Thumbs Up!

Nice job! Like what you did with the front bumper and adding the Moon tank. Great color and stance.

Thank you guys. Yes Larman, I almost removed the grille too but I’m glad I didn’t ?

Very nice build on that flip nosed gasser, as I had built one of those also a few years back.

very nice, I've seen that kit and was wondering about it.  looks like the front clip fits pretty well to the body.

Very cool.

Thanks guys. The front clip takes a little fiddling to fit properly but it’s not as bad as I thought it would be ?

Nice, clean build!

I'm always up for a bumper-less tri-5 Chevy with a straight axle.

Yep I think they are cool too! Thanks guys ?

That's what I thought, too. I especially like the "sit" you achieved. You're making me want to build one of these. Model on! B)

Thanks Snake. Yeah I raised the front a tad, just to level it off. It had a bit of a nose down angle in box form which I didn’t like much. ?

Ironically, I thought you'd lowered it to level it up.

Just added some thin spacers between the springs and frame in front.
