Will future stick to a waxed polished enamel paint job. I have painted the model with testers enamel paint and want to polish it out before applying decals and apply future over the decals. Not sure if future will stick to waxed/polished surface.
Thanks in advance...

No paint products stick to a waxed surface.

And probably Future least of all. The decals should have gone on after the polish, but before the wax.

BTW, I used to use both, but don't use wax or Future much if at all anymore. I find they cause more problems than they solve. I get along fine without them.

I would like to smooth the Testors enamel paint before applying decals and then top the decals with Future. What do you guys do as far as smoothing paint, decals .and top gloss coat?

Thanks again.

Not sure if this is directly related, but it does involve Future. I have been using Future to treat a kit's glass for some time. The build I have now had a spot in the center of the headliner that needed to be touched up. I lightly covered the spot by brush when it slipped out of my hand and left a couple of spots on the inside of the windshield. I was using  decanted Tamiya AS-7 Gray. My first attempt was a water wetted cloth that managed to smear it a little. Next attempt was with Q-Tips and some Tamiya X-20A Thinner. This got the paint almost removed but it looked like I was also messing with the Future. Finally I finished it with some Meguiar's Plastx polish and that seemed to get the rest of the residue off the inside of the windshield. The windshield looks fine now, but I wonder if I should even keep using Future going forward ?

The only thing I use Future for is floors. Never was satisfied with the final results on a model with the exception being the windshield and windows.

Model Master makes an enamel clear coat.... It should work okay with decals, but i would test first to see....... most decal sheets have a serial number that is also a decal. You could paint a spoon with your Testors, apply the extra decal, and clear it to make sure it doesn't harm them. As for smoothing out your paint, I use automotive wet/dry 2000 grit for things like that. Just put a drop of dish soap in your water and proceed carefully, staying away from edges the best you can....

EDIT... I saw your other post about clearing before decals... that would be a good idea as decals like a smooth shiny surface to stick to. So you definitely can clear, decal, and reclear...

Every time I've used future over enamel it spiderwebs regardless of how many years the paint has dried. DONT DO IT
