anyone know where I can find photo etched mesh screen for a semi truck

Try Eduard models, they have tons of photo etch. Most for aircraft, armor, and ships but they also have generic mesh as well.

Model Car Garage has PE diamond and honeycomb mesh sheets plus stainless steel and brass screen.

For truck modelers the best is stainless steel from Plano Model Products. They have a large amount of stuff geared towards model trains, but they also have mesh specially made for 1/24 and 1/25 trucks for grille screen, including the standard apex slotted, round-hole, and Peterbilt oval mesh.

I also find a lot of PE stuff at my local model train store. Boxcar walks, bridges and various other parts. Use your imagination and their parts make great grille materials.

I knew about Plano products (since I am a model railroader too), but I didn't really know about their larger sheets of photoetch meshes.  I model N scale trains and Plano has a very limited N scale selection of products, so I never really went ooking at their website. But I just  ordered $80 worth of various meshes.  Thanks vincen47!

And check household sources.. I know someone found a kitchen strainer at the dollar store that had a good mesh.

Wow!  Thanks Casey!  I thought these were long out of production and gone forever.

Those Tripart meshes are excellent (much better and finer that any other photoetched mesh I have ever found).

They also made some really fine piano hinges, but I think those are long gone.
