cobraman Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Started building this kit I got off the bay . Said was new but was not exactly true but decided to keep it and go forward . So far I painted the interior and the engine mostly cuz of the color but also that plastic look the parts had . Strange that the box clearly shows the engine is wired . The instructions show mounting the distributor and wiring . The parts break done does not show one included . I used a MAD distributor. Do far I found a couple parts missing . Radiator hose was missing so I will make one . There was only one valve cover so I grabbed a pair from the parts box . I stripped some chrome from some engine parts and painted them . I drilled out the holes in the front axle . There were holes there but I made them larger . The engine did not fit in the chassis as it was and I had to Dremel off a tab that was keeping it from dropping in place . That’s were I am now . I will say the body does have a very nice paint finish . .
Sam I Am Posted July 11, 2020 Posted July 11, 2020 Looks great! How much time altogether do you think you will have in the build?
cobraman Posted July 11, 2020 Author Posted July 11, 2020 Less than 8 hours I would guess. Only about 3 to this point.
cobraman Posted July 14, 2020 Author Posted July 14, 2020 Finished this up a bit ago . Some minor problems but nothing major . The paint on the body is pretty good . Doors don’t close quite as good as I think they should . I think the headlights are a bit small but I didn’t have anything better . Also no tai light included so I will have to did in my parts to find a pair .
cobraman Posted July 14, 2020 Author Posted July 14, 2020 Thanks Randy. It's the color that pulled me in on this one. I have their Mustang Pro Street that is the same color. These are great in between more detailed and time consuming projects.
Gramps46 Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Nicely done Ray. The missing parts were a pain but you did well with the replacements. Have been tempted by these Lincoln Mint kits.
slusher Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 Ray, I really like it.and nice touch changing the interior color!!
