crispy Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 WOW! Love it! Those dog dishes really make it for me. Great job! Chris
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Beautiful build!!! It reminds me of a 1970 Nova SS I drove back in 1977. It was for sale for $1,200 and had an L78 396 under the hood with a four speed. Dad wouldn't let me buy it because it was scary fast. It was that same color with the dog dishes on it.
stump Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Jeff, absolutely gorgeous build mate. More inspiration for me... You've probably already told us, but where did you source the wheel/tyre combo from ?? They look awesome... For me, that would be the single most important addition Revell could make with coming issues/versions...throw in some dog-dish and steel wheels...(please Mr. Revell...) Cheers mate Greg
randx0 Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 I was just thinking to myself I like those unusual colors that you see very often great job in confirming what i was thinking love the color and a great job making it look just like the real thing!
VictorSmalls Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 I'm with these guys. Great color on the car and the wheels are the icing on the cake.
noname Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 (edited) Very nice and clean. One of my all time favorites. It looks like a real car sitting there. Edited November 2, 2008 by noname

chris coller Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Nice copo car? Very clean and like the color!
Jeff Johnston Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 Beautiful build!!! It reminds me of a 1970 Nova SS I drove back in 1977. It was for sale for $1,200 and had an L78 396 under the hood with a four speed. Dad wouldn't let me buy it because it was scary fast. It was that same color with the dog dishes on it. Hey Greg. The wheels are resin from the Modelhaus, and I got the COPO caps from Duane Drew at Arrowhead Aluminum Accessories. I alcladded them, as they come unplated. I need top order another set from him. Modelhaus also makes an already plated set of COPO caps. I like the unplated caps because I think the Alclad chrome more represents the brighntess of the 1:1 caps..they were highly polished, but not "bumper chrome" if you know what I mean.
RadRidesByDan Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 absolutely drop dead beautiful factory stock build. WOW
Jeff Johnston Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 Incredibly clean build!!! When did you order those? I bought a number of parts from them on Ebay, about a month before they closed their (Ebay-)account back in July. I have yet to recieve any of the items I bought, and they haven't replied to any of my attempts to contact them . Proceed with caution!!! Chris I probably bought them a few years ago. Regarding Arrowhead...It now takes me 4-5 months to get an order filled, but I am ok with that. The thing is this; Duane has cancer. The last I knew, he was going through a tough bout. He is one of the nicest guys in the hobby, and does not deserve it (nobody does really..)....so while you may be somewhat right to advise people to proceed with caution, I think-thought you might be interested to know the rest of the story. I'll say this. The last time I ordered, it took about 4 months. But I DID receive them, and I ALWAYS do get what I order, even if it takes a bit longer than it used to.
Jeff Johnston Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 Anyway, this is getting entirely off topic... Let's get back to that wonderful Nova of yours - what color did you use? Chris. The color is Autumn Gold Metallic from MCW. It is a factory color..a 70 color if I recall.
62SS Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Beautiful Nova. Love the dog dishes. Very nice job. Ed
