magicmustang Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Well here is my WIP so far on an attempt at a Kookie Kar Klone. Kitbashed from Revell's Tweety Pie and Outlaw kits. Couldn't source any small skulls or proper flame decals yet. Don't know why the colors look different, the blues are all the same as the tubs. Let me know what you think.
Mr. Metallic Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 If you're looking for a small skull, I'm assuming for the shifter, look no further than the Monogram Little T or 30 Woody. Obviously, the Little T shifter may be harder to come by, but I'm pretty sure the skull shifter has been in the 30 Woody since the beginning (although it may have been deleted when R/M revamped the tool in the mid-2000's

I think you might be able to use the flame decals from the Revell '32 Ford 5-window coupe. The kit is from their Special Edition series 2 in 1 #85-4228. Your build is looking dead on so far.

FredRPG Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Nice work. There is a hot wheel car out there with a skull radiator that is just the right size for a shift knob. I don’t know what car it is but I’ve seen one or two used around here.

I haven't used them but remember seeing the box art showing this on the box. I'm sure there maybe some length issues since the A body would have a shorter cowl. I think these could be shortened to fit and have the same overall look.
rustybill1960 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Your build will be most interesting Can't wait to see what you finish with Thank You for sharing with Us here Later Russ

Yes, I used those cut-down decals on my T-Bucket model and they worked perfectly.
magicmustang Posted August 1, 2020 Author Posted August 1, 2020 (edited) Well, I am at a stopping point until I can source out flame decals and skulls. Let me know what you think. Will post in under glass Model Cars also Edited August 1, 2020 by magicmustang
doorsovdoon Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Looks good. What flame decals are you looking for? I have some blue flame decals from the AMT Buick and Mercury custom option if you want them.

See above in this thread.

Steve H Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Gerald, might be too late, but I think Jimmy Flinstone makes skull shifters. Love the build, it looks awesome!!

doorsovdoon Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Looks great, very nice. The added flames finish it off nicely.
