Tiger89 Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 This fun little project took about a week. Right after I ordered paint from MCW, I found a can locally of Model Master Honduras Maroon lacquer, which has been discontinued. That's the same color as Buick Tatian Red, seen on the beauty I photographed at Charlotte's Auto Fair a couple years ago. The custom tail lights from AMT's '50 Ford were perfect, and I suspect the uptop may have been from the '62 Buick.
Tom Geiger Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Neat model! I used to own a 60 Electra two door hardtop.
Tiger89 Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 Tom, I like the styling much better than the angry-faced bizarre-o '59s.
StevenGuthmiller Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Nice work. The top looks like it is from the modern Monogram '59 Impala kit. Steve
Tiger89 Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 Thanks, I was wondering about that top, not included in the '60 kit of course.

RAMBENNA Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 looks great, turned out fantastic, great color too
High octane Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Looks great David as I really like the looks of the '60 Buick and wish that I had all the 60 Buick kits I wrecked. I was able to find a cleanly built one a couple of years ago and added an antenna, side view mirror and license plates, and called it good.

doorsovdoon Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 That looks good. There's one of them here in South Wales believe it or not, it's blue if I remember. Haven't seen it for years now but was always at the local classic car shows.
StevenGuthmiller Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 I don't know guys. I always thought the front end on the '60 was just as goofy looking as the '59. Don't get me wrong, I love them both!! "Just six more payments gentlemen and this beautiful blue, luxury, four door sedan is all mine!" Steve
Tom Geiger Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 My 1:1 1960 2 door Electra hardtop was that color scheme. I had it when the movie was out so I enjoyed that movie sequence!
