  1. I can honestly say that this is one of the best, most extensive model kits that I have ever seen! Worth every nickel! There was almost an entire box of spares left. The instructions are outstanding, and I could have turned this model into an almost spaceship if I had wanted to or had the time and patience. Hope you like it. I sure did!
  2. Thank you all for the compliments. I think that cars of this vintage are so beautiful in stock form.
  3. Long time, no post. Anyhoo, had a wonderful Christmas leave that extended into a month since we all got the Covid. Not recommended, by the way So, I bought this 30 year old kit about five months ago and finally got around to making it. Didn't go with the "Dick Tracy" build, but Colonial Red Exterior with Aqua interior. This model might be very old, and AMT has sold it under many different boxings, but I highly recommend it. It took some filler, but it was really worth it! Pretty darn proud of this girl. I think she is very shapely and quite beautiful.
  4. Applause! That is a gorgeous build! You did really good on this one. thanks for sharing
  5. Now, that is really neat! Plus, as soon as I saw it, I started humming the music.
  6. To me, there is nothing sexier than a flathead V-8! Beautiful build. Congrats
  7. That is some excellent, clean craftsmanship! What did you think of the kit? I still think that it is one of the best kits I have ever built! Went together perfectly.
  8. Beautiful! Clean build and wonderful color
  9. Thanks everyone for the compliments.
  10. Thanks Jim, Actually, I just used a large soft brush and brushed it on. It is self-leveling, so it came out okay. The only problem I ran into is that it congealed in a couple of spots, and I had to strip it and do it again on those areas.
  11. Beautiful job, Mike! I had a '65 squareback that was that very color that you made. I learned how to drive in that car (that was only two years younger than me). Your replica is perfect!
  12. Thanks Lee! It is the AMT Classic 3n1 kit. It is okay, and worth the price if you can get it cheap.
  13. Thanks everyone! I much prefer stock to custom, and much prefer vintage/classic vehicles.
  14. Hey all! Yes, another 1932 Ford 5-window. Still hoping for a 1936 Dodge Touring Sedan with suicide doors and complete stock version. Anyhoo, I took the level 2 AMT version and tried my best to tease a nice model out of it. A lot of the parts including the front windshield and grille specifically had a very poor fitting. I had to scratchbuild the spare rack because it was either missing, lost or something. I did enjoy it, though. This time I wet-sanded/polished up the paint, but finished it with future acrylic. It came out not bad. Thoughts?
  15. Steven, you really have talent for turning plastic into high art! I enjoy following your progress as much as the finished car!
  16. Thanks Dennis! You really did a fantastic job on the whole car!
  17. I really like it! "Don't die" is the perfect touch! great job
  18. Anders, that is a beautiful car! I am so tempted to get one of those kits.
  19. Lee, that is a beautiful car!
  20. Zack, you did great! I really like it, and you don't see one of those every day. Brings back memories
