alan barton Posted September 6, 2020 Author Posted September 6, 2020 Thanks again, everyone. I love the car and the fact that so many other people enjoy it as well is truly gratifying. I have a very chopped up Monogram Beachboys 32 3 window that already has one of these noses grafted to it so I will be making a partner for this one down the track. It has been in primer for years but the success of this one has inspired me to go crazier on the coupe! Cheers Alan
Mr. Metallic Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 Alan, I think this is probably the nicest (near)box-stock build of this kit I've seen. Even better that it is a restoration of an old builtup, making your work harder trying to save and improve all those glued up pieces. I have built two of these over the last several years, one a chopped sedan, the other rebodied with a Vicky body and shortened interior. I'm am currently on the hunt for an unbuilt version of this kit so I can do something similar to what you have here to complete the triple build. Your color choice is stunning, and your conversion to RHD is a detail many might miss when looking at it. Thanks for sharing
Phildaupho Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 Great to see the beautiful job you did building this which I always regret never having this kit and cannot recall when I last saw one built.
alan barton Posted October 2, 2020 Author Posted October 2, 2020 Thanks, Craig and Phil. I still cant believe that I ended up with this historic model simply by asking here whether an AMT Vicky or Revell Tudor body might be feasible as I didn't have an extra AMT Tudor to finish this one. Thanks to Steve (Muncie) it is now a highlight in my collection. And I might add, a bit of searching will reveal a stunning blue one, a pearl white one and a knockout Lime Pearl Vicky version on this forum. They are all very nice indeed. Cheers Alan
Draggon Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 I just realized I never left a comment. I love this Alan, you've done a fantastic job on this old it. As this kit is one of my favorites, and "grails" I'm always excited to see when someone builds it up. You've done one of the best ( if not THE best) jobs I've seen. Well done! ?
