I've been looking forward to doing this one! I bought this a few weeks ago but only opened the box today and holly molly! there is a lot of plastic in here! There is a choice of four build versions in this AMT kit, five if you include your own mix and match version if you choose to! There's all sorts of toys in here, traffic cones, millage test bottle, supercharger, test gauge panel, and even a sweet little reel to reel recorder! This kit is amazing! I don't think I've used so many exclamation marks before!! Lol xD I'll be building this one up like the picture on the box, I just love the design of the front end on this. I've already started on the body and glued the front on. Cos I'm doing the custom version there will be a Lot of pre fitting to check for fit issues, and a bit of filling and sanding to hide any panel joins of the custom bits. Man, there are so many parts in this box I don't know where to begin, look how many tyres there are! Lol

Done the filling and sanding of the custom panels. I've been trial fitting the trim, glass, interior tub to check for any fit issues, other than some flash needing trimming it's all good. The grill inserts pushed the hood a bit so I gave the leading edge of the hood a very light shave so it sat lower and follows the line of the centre grill piece. I also lightly sanded the top of that centre piece flat so the hood sat on it nicely. On the rear I fitted the light panel while the glue dried on the valance to get the fit right, though didn't really need to as it fit really well.

At least they didn't try and squeeze it all into a standard-size box......

Looks like a good start, the trial-fitting will be well worthwhile.

I do prefer the standard size boxes, but yeah, there's no way of packing all this in one of those. Not without damaging something at least. The kit and even the box feels like they really made an effort to wow with this one, and it does. The moulds are excellent, trial fitting shows very little issues.

Smooth looking body work so far. Making the hood flat looks much better with the new grill area. So what color are you going for ?

It'll be pink! I'm debating whether to do a white vinyl roof. ah, the hood is one of two in the kit. There's also two dashboards, two glass colours, two more rear end options as well as two more front grill options. With the parts in this kit you could build another car, all you'd need is a body, base and interior tub really.

While I have only built the standard kit without all the Custom features, I remember it as a great kit to build.

I built this kit back in the 70s, using the customer options you are, but for some reason I also used the low wide hood scoop. I forgot about all the  extra goodies, and did not know the repop  included all the great tire choices, that is nice.

The first two pictures are of the seats that come with this kit, custom and stock, but looking through my spares tin I found some custom seats that wouldn't look out of place either. I'm thinking of cutting out the centre console from the stock seats and using it with a set of custom seats, but which ones? Lol. That's the thing with these loaded kits, there's so many options, plus if you have a decent spares stash it make it even more difficult to choose what to use, haha.
