mchook Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 I had this horrible Monogram 32 Ford kit & a bunch of left over Model A parts so this is what I came up with. I tried to sell the 32 kit for $7.00 on ebay & couldn't, so when I opened it I saw why.? Not much detail at all & the fenders had the chassis molded in it so I wasn't going to use it. But after looking at the parts I had I figured, why not. I shortened the chassis to make the cab & bed fit better & the bed is from an old early iron roadster pickup. It came out pretty good, Ill get some better pictures outside tomorrow, it's raining like a cow wizzing on a flat rock today. 1
espo Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Looks great and I like your signature rusty look. You took two under appreciated kits and made one great looking little pickup. The "Tall Cow standing over a flat rock" thing, we are supposed to get that here tonight.
AmericanMuscleFan Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Very beautiful little truck Mark! You really have the magic touch with the effect of rust and weathering. You have transformed a simple stone into a diamond... Well done sir!!!
cobraman Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 I like what you came up with. Nice job !
OldNYJim Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Oh man, I totally would’ve paid $7 for that kit if I saw it on eBay - I’ve been watching for one for parts for a couple of builds. Anyhoo, I’m glad you didn’t sell it because that little pickup is KILLER man!! Really nice job on that! Well done (but not crazy-overdone) weathering and really nice stance. I’d be pleased if it was mine! ??
bbowser Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Proverbial silk purse. Very convincing weathering, well done.
mchook Posted September 12, 2020 Author Posted September 12, 2020 I got some better outside pics today. Thanks for all the great comments too.
Dennis Lacy Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 I never would have thought to combine these two kits but it works surprisingly well. The weathering looks excellent, very realistic!
Plowboy Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 You really have the touch with weathering a model! You always know where to put the rust and how much to do. They're never overdone. Always just right to my taste. Nice work!
