wrenchr Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Looks cool, I'm building the fairlane right now and the paint messed up... will work out since it is a short track car.
bbowser Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Very well done! Care to share your "denting" techniques?
Bucky Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Very nice job on both of these! I built a dirt track '72 Chevelle from an AMT kit that has similar damage on it.
Kmidd65 Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Really nice, love them both. Those tires really work well with that kit. Thanks for sharing!

wrenchr Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 (edited) A candle free's up your other hand as well. Another trick I will use is to thin the back side of the panel and then it takes very little heat to get the effect. Edited September 14, 2020 by wrenchr
wayneman Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Awesome looking cars. I wish there were more dirt kits/short track kits out there.

Not trying to be facetious, but every kit out there can be a dirt/short track car. Just let your imagination run wild, use some NASCAR chassis if available, or scratchbuild whatever you need. There are plenty resin suppliers of engine parts, wheels & tires, and almost any other part you might need. Now I realize you did mention kits, but unfortunately for us short track fans they are really few and far between. Just as an example here are a couple of regular kits I built into short-track.

I would love to see a work in progress showing some tips and tricks. I am thinking of trying my hand at a dirt late model but am not sure how to proceed.
Pat smulsky Posted January 15, 2021 Posted January 15, 2021 Good looking builds. You should post them to to the facebook page below. Those guys would really appreciate them. https://www.facebook.com/groups/WFCMotorsportsLLC
ABNSPR Posted January 16, 2021 Posted January 16, 2021 Very nice. Just got one of these and PPP tires and wheels in yesterday.
