JollySipper
Thanks, Fellas! Really all that's left to do is the paint work on the body, and I got a step closer with that by priming it today...... If the weather is nice tomorrow, I may get to paint and clear it! Then it's foil and final assembly...... Thanks!
JollySipper
Well, I had a small mishap with the paint.... I tried to mask for the second color over bare Tamiya paint. I ended up with adhesive marks in it. I guess I should have cleared over the first color (the pink) before trying to mask for the second...... Lesson learned! Tomorrow I'll sand everything smooth and just shoot it in one solid color.... Minor setback, but frustrating nonetheless........ I want to thank you guys for letting me post progress pics of my little projects..... You're the only modeling folks I have to share with..... Thanks! doorsovdoon
I've had that happen, you might be lucky and be able to polish it out. You need to let the paint cure for a few days before putting tape anywhere near it.

Thanks! Tim, it’s always better to let your paint cure out a few days before adding a second color or clearing at least that’s my process... JollySipper
Hey, guys.... Got the color coats finalized, I tried to clear it, but the DupliColor I'm using for clear kept blushing. I'm going to have to wait for drier weather before I can finish. Meanwhile, here's a mock-up of how everything's gonna look together! I kinda like how it looks like "suede" paint.... It won't be much longer and this will be finished!
Tom Geiger
I’ve enjoyed following along! Since that’s Tamiya paint, try their clear. I’ve had good luck with it VS Duplicolor.
espo
I like the smooth look of your build. I have been following your build and I like the style of you build. Any final ideas on the grill yet ? I agree with Tom on the clear coat. I know many builders like the Duplicolor products and others, but I'm still in the camp that stays with one brand through out as the paint always seems to play nice with one another.

With skirts or without? I kinda like it better without....... Still contemplating getting the styline parts from the '50 convertible for the body, if I do that I'll definitely use some skirts then..... Thanks for looking, and any comments are welcome....... Looking great. Skirts, if it were lower in stance. With the stance yours has without. My .02.......... Â
JollySipper
Glad you guys are enjoying the build! I'm enjoying it, too...... David, I plan on using the toothed grille and bumperettes. I think that will be nice.... Thanks....
doorsovdoon
Nice! I'm liking the wide whitewalls on those wheels.
JollySipper
I'm back to working on this one, guys! Finally was able to get some clear on it...... Today I worked on getting the small underhood parts painted so I can do final assembly after foil......

JollySipper
Thank you, Carl and Misha! Today I finished the foil, installed glass (which looks wonky in the pics, I've since fixed it...), and put it all together, maybe for the last time..... I might get this done before the end of the year! Pretty much all that's left is bumpers and such........
