A fellow modeler suggested using a  circuit board holder to position model car bodies while applying decals or trim.

The blue vertical stands are adjustable horizontally plus the left one is spring loaded so the body is held by a clamping action.

There are also grooves in the black pieces that mate with the body.

This seems like a good place for this. I am working on some taillights and came up with this. It works great, but I think that anything like a quart jar, yogurt container, coffee can, etc. filled with sand or something for weight, would work fine for front or rear end work.

I got one and my problem with it is in order to get the body tight enough to do anything with it you have to squeeze it in on the ends. I'm afraid to warp or hurt the body.

I didn’t make it super right, and I can see that being more of an issue on a different car. With this one being pretty squared off front and rear it worked well.

I'm keeping mine , just have to use it when it will work for something. It's cheap enough.
