Attached are my "final" rendition of the heidts mustang ii with power rack and heidts 4 link rear end that are on my 1:1 truck.

Had to redo the kick panels on the interior so after the paint dries I will reassemble the interior and send a few pics.

Interior is done. First pic is the 1:1 truck and next pics are my rendition. The door handles and window cranks were carved out of the finned valve covers from the 427 in the amt 32 ford phaeton. Seat is a combination of amt 53 f100 and revell 32 ford 5 window coupe.

Next up, the engine.

Engine is ready to install.

The first  2 pics show how it fits  the next pics are the 1:1 engine. I will plumb the a/c heating and radiator when it's in. Also need to add alternator wire and fan belts.

Thanks to any one who is following along. Comments are always welcome!

Good job Ron !   You have the real deal close to you and it shows, the results so far are proof of your dedication to this project!  I really like that you took the time to replace the molded springs with real springs on the 4 link, a small detail that makes a big difference! ?

Hi Francis. thanks for checking in.  Those coil overs are modified RD Unique coil overs. If you aren't familiar with RD Unique, they made a variety of fairly nice street rod components cast in a soft metal that polishes up similar to what you can do with aluminum.  RD Unique was around 20 years ago. (The disk brakes I used are also metal casted by RD Unique).    As you know, if it's made out of metal, it really looks like metal. (My photography skills aren't very good so the pictures don't do justice to the aluminum and metal cast items I have used on this project.)

Thanks again for checking up on me. Your interest in my project has been very motivating!

Great looking work. I like how you use aluminum for so many of your scratch built parts. As a past owner of two different '56 Ford F-100's I feel that it is the best looking Ford pickup ever and Ford has offered a few. The "Big Rear Window" has to be the most desirable to own or build. I like how accurate the door jams look as well as the tailgate. The bed floor rails add so much depth to it's appearance.

Sorry for the late response to this  18 month old attachment to this thread.  I didn't know how to respond to individual comments . Thanks for looking and commenting back then.  I have made a bit of progress on this build and hope to be at at the Heartland Nationals next month with it.  I see you are from somewhere in Kansas so If you are also there we can talk F100's for a while.

I already have a table for the swap meet, look for me at there. I will also have a couple of builds on display.

Well done and clean assembly, another good step in the right direction Ron! ?

Hey Francis. thanks for checking in. I just got the hood installed and my hinges actually work! I am posting a few pics of the hood "in action". (2 things worried me on this build. Would the aluminum trim around all the windows look ok after paint and polish, and would the hood hinges actually work. I am satisfied with both items.)

Installed the hood. The hinges I designed actually work. (I showed them in detail way early in this thread) I just need to pull some of the model apart, clean up a few items, add bumpers and a better grill and I think it will be done.

Hi Greg. Thanks for your feed back . The bed was my favorite part of this project.

Thanks for looking!

Very cool Ron, the hood opens and closes perfectly, not many venture into this terrain and you should be proud.  The paint is great by the way! ?

Hi Francis. Thanks for the compliment.  I like to do something a little unique on my projects. In this case the functioning hood was that thing.

Looking really, really good Ron!  Bes wishes on the final assembly....TIM

HI Tim.

Thanks for checking in.  Final assembly is always a bit nerve racking for me.  Things are falling together OK.

Such a beautiful build! The engine pictures looks like the 1:1 bellow!

Hi Anton.

Thank you so much for looking and commenting.  I tried to capture the essence of each feature of the 1:1 truck in this build. I am happy to hear that you feel like I have done that to the engine.
