NYLIBUD Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 The virus basically destroyed the local Sunday swap meet/show schedule in my area on LI this entire season..However there were some good crowded cruise nights. Some organized and sanctioned, like the one at a local church. That show brought in 500+ cars in every week. And masks were a must. Then other where guys just that just met up..And now they moved the Sunday morning coffee and car,if you will, shows 5 mins from my house. Its being held at the DMV office.Off the beaten path, with no one to bother us.Before that, the Sunday show was down near Jones beach,a good 45 min ride in my car,so that’s why I rarely ever went. And I would’ve had to leave my house at dawn,no thanks...Now of course the cruise nights are over, dark at 4:30,but the Sunday show will go on as long as there’s no snow, salt or a lot of sand. Not that I’m going when it.s 20 degrees,No way.?Some recent pix.

I always enjoy your "car show" pictures. Amazing verity and that is what makes them so interesting. The first picture of the orange GTX looks just like a car I saw yesterday while visiting the Ozark Mountains . We were heading home on a winding section of two lane road when what would pass for a twin but with a dark gray painted hood was going the other way. Hard to take a picture when we were both going in the opposite direction at better than posted speed limits.
cobraman Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Nice pics, thanks. Did you sneak a pic of your car into the mix ? ?

TransAmMike Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 Some great looking and to say the least unusual cars. For me, WTH is the deal with the raised hood on that Cutlass??

For me, WTH is the deal with the raised hood on that Cutlass?? Idk what’s with the Cutlass, looks like he added a whole can on Bondo to the hood.Yea there’s some strange cars that show up.I guess we will see how long the police and state let the show go on for.Again it’s on NYS DMV property. And people are doing the same old burn outs when they leave. The Sunday AM show originally started at Jones beach down on the south shore of LI,in case u didn’t know. And other parks in that area. Then the state closes it all down cause the virus. So they moved the show to an abandoned Macy’s,over during the later part of the summer. The show was bringing north of 1,000+cars.Now they are building a Costco, and the police shut us all down. Then we moved about two miles down the road to a bank. That lasted for about two weeks, until it finally came to the DMV lot.Keep our fingers crossed.??for it to last. And like I said,it’s about 5-10 mins from my house.**More pic to come**.
NYLIBUD Posted November 30, 2020 Author Posted November 30, 2020 Here’s some pix from a show about two weeks ago.Sorry,I was posting the show pics in the wrong forum.

NYLIBUD Posted December 4, 2020 Author Posted December 4, 2020 My friends 1970 Polara, and an 08 CV detectives car.
NYLIBUD Posted December 6, 2020 Author Posted December 6, 2020 More coffee and cars from this morning.I got there a bit late.My friends Imperial has a turn around front seat, and a folding table, that doubles as an arm rest.Very rare option imo.It was included so secretaries could type or do long hand notes.
NYLIBUD Posted December 13, 2020 Author Posted December 13, 2020 More new pics from this mornings, cars and coffee.60 degrees in LI NY,so it was packed. The last picture is the local DMV lot, well part of it.And my buddy’s white 57 Jalopy. Actually is a good ole,Chevy.
espo Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 A lot of great looking cars and trucks turned out. I find the Olds 88 coupe is strangely interesting. Your friends '57 looks like it has a '56 Bel Air passenger door ?
NYLIBUD Posted December 14, 2020 Author Posted December 14, 2020 Yea he’s got parts from so many cars over the years.Problem is with my buddy is that he is elderly, and on a fixed income ,in other words,no money,0, zErO Nuthin..Nada.lol..And yea the turnout was good, mainly because the nice mild weather. But now I hear they’re calling for snow possibly later this week...Oh fun???
misterNNL Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Most of us look forward to hearing the rumble of hot camed engines and the burble of barely muffled exhaust at these shows. Somehow I can't imagine a car show sometime in our future where the barely Audible hum of electric motivated vehicles will excite the sences. Just my opinion of course.

You're not alone on this subject. If you want a warmed over V-8 with Headers and a set of Flowmasters and the sent of Race Fuel you better hurry because going forward it's going to be "Diehards" and Lithium Ions from here on out.
NYLIBUD Posted January 14, 2021 Author Posted January 14, 2021 Welp it’s pretty cold up here on Long Island NY.But I showed up at coffee and cars, and grabbed a few more clips before there are no cars left.l..Yea pretty empty hopefully we get a few mild Sunday’s ,.but until then,we’ll just wait
