Matt Bacon Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 One of Heller's better 1/43 car kits, with good shape and detail, especially for the scale. It's a really cool little sports car that punches well above its weight, as well... It's a pretty small car in real life, and even more so in 1/43! It's just a shame no one does a nice 1/24 scale version; the closest is an Eidei/Grip kit from the early 80s, available in an Airfix box from time to time. But it's ex-motorised and tarted up with fake rally parts, so is not very appealing, even as the "only game in town". best, M.
Spottedlaurel Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Nicely done Matt. I can appreciate the work you've had to put into getting it to look this good, having finished off a Heller 1:43 kit myself earlier this year (Austin Princess). They really are small after 35+ years of handling 1:24/25 kits! I have that Airfix 1:24 kit, been pondering how difficult it would be to convert to standard-ish spec.
PatW Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Superb Matt, having built numerous 1/43 rd's over 30+ years of metal, plastic and resin, this looks special well done!
Matt Bacon Posted November 29, 2020 Author Posted November 29, 2020 Thanks, chaps! Somehow, I think a real one of these would punch @Ace-Garageguy 's buttons: small, light, quirky, fast and a real drivers car, which an expert wrencher would have no issues with despite its essential French-ness... best, M.
Earl Marischal Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Nice work. I saw one on Wheeler Dealers recently being fixed up by Edd and it looked smart. steve
