Ace-Garageguy Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Whether you're an aviation enthusiast, a soldier, or just have a passion for anything, this guy's story is one of the most inspirational things you may ever see. This, to me, is what it means to be an AMERICAN.
89AKurt Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 That was spectacular. Wife loved it too. Love that famous story. I built a model when I was a teenager. Gave it away when we moved.
LDO Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 It’s just about bedtime, but now I have something to listen to on the road tomorrow. I have seen him in a documentary about the SR-71. He mentioned hitting some pretty high Mach numbers on an operational mission. Possibly after strikes on Libya in 1986. My memory is a bit fuzzy on the dates. Btw there is a guy in Europe who is 3D printing a 1/24 scale SR-71. That would be an awesome ceiling hanger.

LDO Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 I did listen to this in between calls a few days ago. Definitely worth a little bit of your time. The part at Reagan’s use of the Blackbird over North Korea was great.
Bronzekeg Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 David Fravors' story on chasing a ufo is great also.
vamach1 Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 (edited) Great inspirational story and photographs. Edited December 26, 2020 by vamach1
Snake45 Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 My favorite part is around 59:50: "And a 12-year-old is reaching for the mic..." I could swear he was channeling the late great Sam Kinison at that point in the story.

Danno Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 WoW! That was amazing . . . awesome . . . awe-inspiring! Best hour + I've spent in a long, long time. Thanks, Bill, for sharing that. If you had not, I never would have seen it and I am grateful for the experience. An incredible Christmas present. ???
