Merkur XR4Ti Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 First model of the new year: 1967 Olds 442. I have always had trouble painting black as it magnifies any paint flaws or scratches. I tend to shy away from it, but I decided to challenge myself and build this with the black over red paint scheme. For the new year and all. I’m very happy with the way it came out. This is the Lindberg kit.
Olskoolrodder Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 It looks great, my friend, nicely done! Black can definitely be a pain, LOL, I use black sometimes myself, but not that often for those exact reasons ??
doorsovdoon Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Looks great. I've built this kit a few months ago and I think I did a dark red interior too. It's a nice kit to work with, though I had a heck of a time with the radiator support so I left it out on mine.
GeeBee Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Looks superb, black is one colour i shy away from, it shows up way too many imperfections, but yours look perfect.....
Oldcarfan27 Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Beautiful build. But one thing bugs me - did you take the photos underneath a pegboard wall? It distracts from your nice paint job.
