RODOMOTIVE Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 In 60's and 70's new car models from Revell, AMT, Monogram etc where were the instruction sheets placed in the box, on the bottom or on top?
BlackSheep214 Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Wow... I can't remember to be honest with you. I started building model kits around 1976 or 1977. That would put me about 9, 10 or 11 years old back then.
JollySipper Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Did you purchase an old kit, and are wondering if it was still factory sealed? (as in no one had re-sealed it). If that's the case, there may be other ways to tell......
SCRWDRVR Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 I'm not 100% sure as I am about the same age as BlackSheep214 and started building around the same time but I seem to remember them being on top when I was young. I've thought about that a few time opening kits here recently to look at something in the directions....
slusher Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 I built a lot of AMT.kits I guessing best I can remember wasn’t AMT had them on the side tri folded. Decals on the bottom. I have been thru. Lead paint and several bike wrecks...
Force Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 I don't remember either, but I don't recall any instructions on top, I think they were on the side or at the bottom together with the decals.
BlackSheep214 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Well, I do have that pink '57 Chevy lowrider kit in the original shrink wrap. I'm not ready to build that kit just yet though.
Casey Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 The bottom, along with the decal sheet, inserts, flyers, etc.
