Whipped up my very first batch of sprue glue last night, used tamiya extra thin and a combination of white and clear sprue trees. Did a fair amount of google research and followed some simple advice,  wash the sprue to remove any mold release!

I only used it from the inside of the shell as I wasn’t sure how it would work, and this morning  I’m thrilled, this is solid!

Everything you need is on it's way, Brother!

Much appreciated, I’ll be waiting for the arrival, hopefully now that the silly season is over it will arrive in a reasonable time

And now some body filler to fix some small gaps, it’s on there kinda thick, hard to be detailed with a spatula made from a bamboo skewer.

Body's coming along well, look forward to more on this !

Very cool car to base this from,  love seeing hot rods in bare steel i wouldn't paint it at all !

Thank you, it’s my first real body job on a model, I’ve usually left them alone. I’m hoping that this learning experience will be fruitful!
I have a 32 5 window body in the wings and with the recent posting by @Kit Karson I’ll be attempting my first chop tomorrow.

I’ve learned so much just browsing the forums, it’s great here!!

Interesting approach to adding a firewall and removed hood to that body. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

And pretty neat that you’re friends with Iron Trap. That’s a really neat project he’s started!

Well some progress has been made,

front suspension will be from the ant 41 woody, while the rear will be from a revell 40 Ford coupe, got both in a recent pile of rebuilders.

wheels and tires are also from an early Ala-cart rebuilder. And some parts are parts bin specials. Made some slight modifications to the frame/floor pan and proceeded to get it ready in paint.

So here is where we are so far today, I’m hoping to have some more progress on the engine by days end.

Nice.

You got the R&M SCOT blower.....and the Ardun heads.

Excellent.

Yeah

those parts are very difficult to source locally, I lucked out on a recent trade deal with a friend, he had duplicates of some stuff and I had some stuff he really wanted!
current progress is back on bodywork and interior planning, there were a couple of small areas of concern that required a bit more filling.

the interior tub will have to be greatly modified to sit with the amount of channel the body has.

I may have to consider a custom interior.

Well insulated, but Unheated it was a balmy 3 above in there, I have a small nook in there that I have a small space heater in close to my paint booth( cardboard box with a lamp over it)

I’m working on completing the engine today, have to make some engine mounts and set it down a little in the frame, also need to do some clearancing inside the body to get the front of the body to come down abit more

That is a good looking color for this car. keep on keepin on..

Thank you

well I’m still working on ride height and fitment of the chosen wheels and tires, I think I have the height finally nailed.

and I got slightly sidetracked with detailing a race driver for a possible digger or coupe project

Excuse the engine in the pic, it’s still going to have a flathead
