Did a test, sanded off the molded spring detail and wrapped the shock body with wire.  A nice improvement I think without having to scratch build the entire coil-over.  Once the assembly is painted I will use the red coated wire to replicate the spring in lieu of the bare wire.

Brilliant way for better realism than to go crazy with it....love how you show other ways to do things!!!

I don't understand how your projects look cleaner & tidier in the body shop than most finished models do: no sanding marks, nothing!! ?

LOL!!!!

Thanks Dann.

  • Fabricated what I believe is a battery box
  • Added a fire bottle switch, it will be plumbed to the two chamber bottle included in the kit
  • Resin ignition module

These photos appear to show no forward half of a roll cage only a roll hoop and kickers behind the driver at this point of the car's development.

This photo appears to show no roll cage at this stage.  There does appear to be some reinforcement in the greenhouse structure however.

As an ex-race and rally marshal it's interesting to see the late Ferrari F1 driver Gilles Villeneuve in the driving seat in the coloured picture, but Ferrari owned Lancia at the time so must have used him as a test pilot. Walter Rohrl in the black and white photo was one of their full time drivers.

The Giro D'Italia is a multi-day event,  Villeneuve drove some of the stages before he was called back to his F1 duties, story here:

JC, you build some of the most interesting cars.  I've never even seen many of the kits you build.   They are always a fun follow!

Glad you enjoy my projects Ben.  My interest can be a little off the main stream.

Maybe.....but always interesting.

Turbo only Shay.  There was a twin turbo version.

Fluid tanks and turbo intake installed.  That should do it for the engine bay (except for the rear brakes).

I don't understand the different diameter exhaust pipes, can you enlighten me please?

If it's like a Porsche 911 Turbo, then one is the engine exhaust, and the other is from the wastegate from the turbo.

Dan is correct.  The lower larger diameter is the engine exhaust, the upper smaller diameter is the waste gate exhaust.  In this photo they cut the waste gate exhaust short.
