Okay...I may be a bit out of touch here, but I've used up what I had on hand of "Blue Magic". Went looking for it and can't find it. I assume that it is no longer avialable.

If that be the case. What do you guys recommend in it's place. I have a couple of resorations to do...so I need something comperable.

Thanks...Mark

I never heard of Blue Magic paint remover.  The name (like other car care products) sounds like a remover designed to work on metal (real cars).  Was it plastic-compatible?

Peter...it was around for several years. "Bio-friendly", worked like a charm on all of those "SMP early "AMT" kits that were painted with a brush amd .10 cent bottles of Testors. Now I'm dating myself. It was good stuff though!

What part of New England. I'm originally from Springfield MA.

Quido, How well does it do on the old Testors enamels?

That's what it works best on. In the last two weeks I've stripped four bodies with the stuff.

Thanks Casey. Looks like I might run to Lowe's and pick-up some of the "LA  Totally Awesome".

But what ever happened to "Blue Magic"?

Thanks "Snake". I might give that a try as well and see what works better!

I remember seeing Blue Magic some 18 years ago , which coincided with my discovery that Super Clean , et al. , were more cost-effective (and served more than one purpose) .

For those whom aren't aware of Blue Magic : it was in a ~medium-sized clear bottle ; it was marketed in hobby stores ( I used to see it at Burbank's House Of Hobbies ) as a polystyrene-safe paint stripper . I'm almost certain that the advent of Super Clean , et al. , brought upon the demise of Blue Magic (pure speculation on my part) .

Interesting . . . sounds like it was good for plastic models.

I'm in the Lowell, MA area.  I participate in model train show at the Big-E in W. Springfield. But not this year.

Agreed!

Super Clean will take Testors enamel right down to squeaky clean, bare plastic in a matter of a few minutes if it's not too thick.

Overnight will definitely do the trick no matter how thick.
