As I was re-reading an old Stirling North book when this fella popped out into the world, he got tagged with the name Rascal.

Big marshmallow :)  Real warrior but could snuggle with the best of them; those big paws would alternately flex when he was enjoying a good

neck rub but you had to be careful how you held him as he would drool like crazy

Sure miss him...

Big, solid, handsome guy there ! I can just see him 'making biscuits' and purring with a slight whistle.

I've only encountered one drooling feline in my 55 years - total love bug,  grey / white female with a lovely brood of kittens (she was the queen).

We had to say goodbye to our cat Button today. She lived a very long, and mostly good life. She was an awesome companion, model building buddy, and kept the family tradition of the cat bringing us a rabbit at Easter. We will miss her very much.

She looks like our Chloe who we lost 2 years ago. That was a 1 in a million cat.

Miss Bella was lounging in the sunlight coming in through the living room window, until I so rudely interrupted her by starting to fold some laundry.... She's living such a rough life.

Cats that show the belly feel safe. Our Mr. Ivan will do that at times. He still has some of the feral in him.

Tao not only presents belly, but he absolutely loves belly rubs.

Emily enjoys belly rubs as well.

We got an older cat that needed to be rehomed. My son asked if there was anything we should know about her.. the answer was, she liked belly rubs. Any time she wanted one, she simply flopped over on her side.

Also posted in "What did you see in your backyard today". The big guy likes to go after lizards that get into the house but I think this one might be a bit out of his league!

On the left is Dinner. He's been my house cat for about ten years now. Just showed up one day. He was being a pest while I was making dinner one night and I told him if he didn't knock it off, he'd be dinner. He didn't knock it off, so he became Dinner.

On the right is another one that just showed up yesterday. I'm about 95% sure it's female and is super friendly but also a bag of bones at the moment. Dinner isn't liking the new neighbors. 🤣

And at the work shop about a mile away, where I actually build models, this orange guy showed up this summer and has taken up partial residence in the shop. He's called Oliver, at the suggestion of a friend.

My wife has wanted another cat since we lost our last one, Gizmo Grease Spot, to coyotes 7 years ago. Admittedly selfishly, I didn't want to bear her heartbreak when we inevitably lost another one, as coyotes prevail where we live and frequently poop in our driveway to mark their territory. In addition, I am opposed to keeping a cat indoors all the time as it is their instinct to roam and hunt. That being said, the very elderly mother of a friend-of-a-friend of my wife's was going into an assisted living facility and couldn't keep her cat. The cat had been a indoor cat her entire life and shows no interest in going outside. If a door is opened, she may look outside, but never goes through the portal. We adopted her and brought her to her new home. It took her almost 2 weeks to claim us as her Humans, but since she has, she is incredibly affectionate, inseparable and talkative. Meet Hannah, although she purrs so often and so loudly that I might have to change her name to Destiny Diesel.
