Captain Spaulding Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 Finished my latest project a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. Almost became parts today as it fought me in final assembly with pieces falling off and the kits poor fitting giving me issues. Walked away for awhile and gave it another go and everything went together. Planned on a hockey stick stripe down the side to break up the red, but the kit supplied decals aged too much and they crumbled as I slid them off the backing paper so had to scratch that idea. Overall I had fun building it, even with the assembly issues today. Was a pretty easy and straightforward kit to build.

bisc63 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 You made the ol' gal look nice! Red rag-top with chrome mags is ALWAYS cool.

Thanks pal, came out pretty good for what wasn't an overly great kit. 21 minutes ago, michelle said: great work Thank you, appreciate it.

Ya gettin some snow up there? Thanks pal, thougth the mags looked pretty good as well. Both kit supplied sets of rims weren't molded properly and had chunks out of them on the tree so had to raid the parts box. Getting too much snow here, on day two of a storm that just keeps putting it down.
disconovaman Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 That is the best built example of this particular kit that I've seen. Very subtle and clean. Nicely done, Captain! When you had it on the Workbench I thought Wow! bravery, commitment, and a special set of skills is gonna be needed to get that kit built ? You have mastered the impossible. I built it when I was a kid, I made mess out of it...? Seeing yours makes me want to redeem myself. I might be able to do better now with 35 years of experience? ?

Thank you for the compliments pal I really appreciate it. If you decide to redeem yourself just watch assembling the body to the chassis. I had things start to randomly fall off and the interior tub didn't want to line up. If I didn't walk away it might of joined the airborne division. ?
AMT68 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 That's a real clean build in a good color combination and I like the nicely detailed interior.
