Ben269 Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 I haven't worked on this in several months. I am stuck. I don't know what I want to do with this interior. I was thinking about a mexican blanket style seat cover, but not sure quite how to accomplish that. Maybe a brown bench seat? maybe the dash should be red, I don't know. Stuck. I also was thinking about hot rodding the 6 cyl a bit. if you have any ideas, lets hear them.
Tom Geiger Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 (edited) Find a picture of one online.. copy and resize it to fit. Print on regular paper and white glue in place... Edited February 9, 2021 by Tom Geiger
Ben269 Posted February 9, 2021 Author Posted February 9, 2021 Ah, that's a good idea. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the tip!
Painted Black Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 Your weathering looks great, I'd go with a spotless white interior with the same red dash and accents.
Plowboy Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 The dash and door panels would have been body color.
Jantrix Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 In the quilting section of your local craft stores you can find printable cloth swatches. That's not what I used in this instance, I used lint free cloths like you might find in a machine shop or clean room, but they aren't cheap or easy to get. The printable quilting swatch should getcha the same effect.
espo Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 Scale Motor Sport offers decals of a Mexican Blanket pattern as well as other more conventional upholstery patterns.
Ben269 Posted February 10, 2021 Author Posted February 10, 2021 Thanks for the ideas, guys, I will for sure look into a few of these.
Steve H Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Hi Ben, the other option would be doing a weather beaten interior. I did one years ago, used scotch tape painted silver to replicate duct tape on the seats, and some “dirt” on the floor using grunge from our built in vacuum canister (can’t believe I just admitted that in public!), it’s actually quite fun, let your imagination run wild. Consider doing some windshield wiper marks on the windshield? That’s my 2 cents. What you have done so far looks great. Cheers, Steve
Tom Geiger Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 Since we are off in other directions.. I did this burlap seat cover interior. I saw it on 1:1 scale rat rods. Mine is nothing more than Taco Bell napkins and white glue
Ben269 Posted February 11, 2021 Author Posted February 11, 2021 Thats an interesting choice as well. The truck is supposed to be a low buck hot rod, something a high school kid would be driving. Any of these ideas will work.
