Doug 1061 Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Well, after 4 or 5 months I finally got this undertaking done. Or as done as I'm gonna get it? Built from 2 MPC gravel trailer kits. Never did like the look of that 24 ft. triple axle that the kit depicts, so I dared to be different, converted it to a frameless tandem axle which is very common here in the western U.S. Probably not entirely accurate since all I had to go by was pics I found on the net, and they weren't the best. It seems that no 2 of these were the same. It's gonna go behind my W925, still need to pin the 5th wheel on it, still need a bit of research on that and come up with a hydraulic line. I kinda made it up as I went on some of it, surprisingly it ended up looking like I envisioned it. This is the biggest kitbash/scratch build I have ever done. I have learned a lot reading on this site which helped me get up the nerve to tackle such a project. Biggest thing is don't be afraid to dive in and give it a shot. I am happy with how it turned out overall. Hope you like, comments/critiques welcome as always. Thanks for lookin'.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 This one turned out great!! Very nice work! The reflector tape really finishes this one off! Looks great!
1959scudetto Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 Though I find these frameless dumper trailers a bit strange, I like your model very much - it looks fantastic, hooked to that KW - very nice !!!
doorsovdoon Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 That looks stunning, very nice work. Beautiful looking Kenworth too! They really good together.
kilrathy10 Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Excellent work, My Friend... This is a very nice looking trailer... I love it, and I'm going to have to build one of these, myself... Awesome build...
Doug 1061 Posted February 28, 2021 Author Posted February 28, 2021 Thanks for all the positive comments guys. I had tons of fun building this. Now to find a case for it, trying to come up with ideas for that.
Warren D Posted March 1, 2021 Posted March 1, 2021 Good job with the seam, can't even see a hint of it. I agree with your statement, I don't like the look of that short dump trailer with 3 axles.
