Revell Chopper #2

Here is another custom chopper that I got as a started project. The OB did some nice custom work and I am excited to move forward on it. The OB added some nice turned aluminum pieces. Going to have to turn a second fuel tank cap since I could only find one.

This morning I began the paint work. Started with a base coat of Model Master Plymouth Bright Platinum and covered that with Tamiya Mica Red. The plan is to shoot some clear over that, add decals and then a final coat of Tamiya clear Orange or clear Yellow.

I got the decals on today. Tomorrow I will experiment on some scrap to see how the clear orange topcoat will look.

Got clear orange sprayed and then a couple wet coats of Wet Look Clear.

Got some paint sprayed on the bars and Molotow chrome sprayed on the front forks and parts. Progress is slow but working on three projects at the same time.

I have been slowly plugging along on this during breaks at work. Made a seat cushion and painted it and the grips in Satin Warm Caramel. I thought it would go better with the red than black would.

I also have the front end together and am working on the engine and rear wheel setup. At the moment the rear tire hits the fender so I'll need to do some adjusting there.

Looks great. I love how low slung it is.

Been working a bit on this one during some of my stints at the bench. I cleaned up.the seams on the engine block and airbrushed it with Molotow. Then I hit it with some panel line accent. I had to slightly modify the location of the alternator due to the custom frame brace. Got the wheels and brake discs mounted and the chain hit with some paint to de-chrome it. Tomorrow will be adding the belt and cover. I'm really liking the look of this one. I'm thinking of doing a candy green with marble effect on my second one.
