GLMFAA1 Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 A request from a retiring battalion chief for two models of my models of YFD chief cars. The first is a one is a one off that celebrates the promotion of three Italians firefighters to chief status years ago. It's called "Italian chief" I made B2 years ago, this one is B1 per request of chief. The kit is Revell's Escalade, Tamiya pearl white paint, handmade side decal using red decal paper and old Pactra yellow stripping kit. Charlie Rowley decals. Interior is complete with fire coat, boots, helmet and a Plasticville basket of tomatos. The Ford Interceptor is what is used currently as battalion chief cars today. It is a Motormax diecast white blank car with decals from Charlie Rowley. greg
GLMFAA1 Posted June 13, 2021 Author Posted June 13, 2021 It is a joke, It's Italian, white car red stripe, and green lettering= Italian colors, Tomatoes= Italian cuisine. greg
David G. Posted June 13, 2021 Posted June 13, 2021 Nice trucks. Are the stripes are lettering decals or painted? Also I'm guessing that the "Y" is for Youngstown? David G.
GLMFAA1 Posted June 15, 2021 Author Posted June 15, 2021 The Interceptor's stripes are decals The Escalade's are red decal paper cut to design and yellow pin stripe tape. The yellow stripe on the tailgate is same tape but wider and the swoosh on the side is just cut piece. The pattern is based on a real generic fire decal available in from after market dealers. The green YFD is decal Yes the YFD = Youngstown Fire Department. a distinguished logo for years in the department. greg
