And to make it completely correct, I need an I-6 as well. I can probably source the rear seat from the 1957 Ford Custom 300. Rock Island Auction sold this car for $46,000 in 2019. HI Jim. I'm not sure from your reply that I made myself plain enough as to what I was suggesting. As I understand it you are wanting to build a '57 Chevy 4-door 150 series ? What I was trying to suggest was to use the Resin '57 4-door 210 series body and convert that body to a 150 series car. This would give you all of the basic body that is needed with only the side trim needing to be changed. My thought was to remove the side moldings from the Resin body and use stripes of plastic to create the correct 150 trim and then glue that to the Resin body. I have done this using different sized material from Plastruct or Evergreen depending on the sizes that I could find. I think the Round 2 release of the '59 Chevy C-10 pickup may give you about as close of an engine to the'57 6 cylinder engine as is out there. 2

disconovaman Posted September 9, 2021 Author Posted September 9, 2021 ranma built this kit, I lended the 6cyl from the 60 for the project. It's basically a direct fit... the carb needs to be trimmed so the breather will clear the hood but that's it. I would still suggest the 55 Chevy trim from the Revell hard top as a solution for the 150 conversion.

I actually have that kit, and I planned to use the Rookie Resin GMC V6 conversion for something a little different. So much for that idea.

Thank you for the correction. I didn't have the kit anywhere handy to be sure and I somehow thought of it being a '59 body style. Obviously I was wrong.
disconovaman Posted September 9, 2021 Author Posted September 9, 2021 I owned a couple of those early 60's trucks in high school and when Amt released the kit in the late 90's I bought a bunch. I also have a collection of the original long bed kits too. I want to eventually own another but the problem is, they have become really expensive now... l was glad to see Round 2 bring it back but I do think the Boxart is a tad uninspiring. Purple with stock wheels and tires? I would've liked something with shop truck vibes... Maybe they will reissue the custom kit next...
Jim B Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 Looks like the kit sits a tad lower than your truck, Anthony.

The custom issue (the one pictured) has a lowered suspension. Funny story though, these trucks have torsion suspension and one day 16 year old me discovered that by cranking on those bolts would lower the truck to the ground. Then I ran it down to the Advance Auto parts store and bought spring clamps for the rear. I installed those right in the parking lot. I couldn't wait to cruise through the park in my low rider! ? (it was the 80's) It sat lower than the box art truck! It scaped the speed bumps every time... So when dad came home and seen it, needless to say he was not happy! He said "You can't drive it like that!" It was 3 on the tree and the weight of the truck was constantly binding the shift linkage. So I had to raise it back up and get it realigned.

I guess I could splice the rear of the '55 sedan to the front of the '57 sedan; but that is just a recipe for disaster! The Modelhaus did have a '57 150 4 door available, but they are probably unobtanium nowadays.
Tom Geiger Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Question.. is the roofline the same on Tri Five sedans.. two door and four door? If so, using a Black Widow body, it’s a matter of scribing new door lines, adding four door handles and moving the B pillar. And filling in the old 2 door line. 1
SfanGoch Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 (edited) That is the most viable and easy to do solution. The interior panels will also need to be re-scribed to reflect a 4 DR 150. Edited September 11, 2021 by SfanGoch
Brian Austin Posted September 18, 2021 Posted September 18, 2021 There is good reference available regarding Chevy cars and trucks. https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits.html Yes, the sedan roof was shared between two-door and four-door models, and through the '55-'57 years. Hardtops will be different from the sedans, different windshields.
