Foghorn Leghorn Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 (edited) For anyone lucky enough to own this kit: Please give the part number marked on the underside of the hood. Note that this is request for the part number marked on the hood. Not the part number on the instruction sheet. Edited September 11, 2021 by Foghorn Leghorn
Casey Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 There were both static and slot versions. More info here:
Dave G. Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 I don't know but I'd like to build one of those. Is it 1/25 or 1/24 ?

It's marked 1/24, but it looks OK alongside 1/25 models. I haven't measured it, but there's a possibility the scaling isn't entirely accurate, as the engine is close to the size of 1/25 Ford flatheads. 1

I think I missed this one in my many model builds of the late 1950's and 1960's to early 70's.. Whatever the scale I like it. The internet isn't exactly flooded with these things I notice. But I'll keep my eyes open and check ebay now and then.
Jon Haigwood Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 If we are talking about the louvered hood it is 98 or 86 depending on how you look at it. But there is a line under 98
Mike999 Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 (edited) The number stamped into the non-louvred hood of my original kit is "86." On the parts list it's Part Number C86 ("C" meaning "Body Color Plastic," which is turquoise). Here's a scan of the parts layout. A previous owner added the hand-written notes. Tabbysdaddy Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Mine's in a case which isn't the easiest to get in to, but it's very likely I sanded off the number anyways. Here it is next to a 1/25 Chevy.
Foghorn Leghorn Posted September 11, 2021 Author Posted September 11, 2021 Ah, now i see that i'm on the wrong track. The hood i have is molded in a grayish blue but unlike the Mono 1940 Ford PU hood, mine has half of a hinge device molded in/on to the trailing edge of the hood. Back to the drawing board. Thanks, Men!
mchook Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Hi, it looks like it's part #98 on my original issue truck.

Tabbysdaddy Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Your title change bothers me very much.

Oldcarfan27 Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 Good information! Especially the instruction sheet. Makes me wish I had an original issue. Lots of great parts!
