Zippi Posted October 21, 2021 Author Posted October 21, 2021 (edited) Got a little clear on the body this morning. Still needs to be wet sanded and polished. I think it's looking good so for. Wasn't to sure at first but I like the colors once I got some lacquer on it. Edited October 21, 2021 by Zippi
Zippi Posted October 21, 2021 Author Posted October 21, 2021 (edited) I got some parts cleaned up and ready to paint.. Some parts I painted the other day have dried and ready to assemble. I don't like the decal set that came with this kit so I may go with this one I pulled out of an old 1950 Chevy truck kit. Edited October 21, 2021 by Zippi
espo Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 Your build is looking good. I just noticed the push bumper decals on the kits decal sheet. Hard to figure out which one to use.
NOBLNG Posted October 22, 2021 Posted October 22, 2021 I like that colour combo. It’s going to look great!?

Zippi Posted October 24, 2021 Author Posted October 24, 2021 I had to pull the engine back off the chassis. I think I shot myself in the foot. The pulley system will not fit since I installed the plug wires in the distributor. Need to figure out what to do now to fix this problem.
Zippi Posted October 24, 2021 Author Posted October 24, 2021 Well I'll be dang if I didn't get lucky on this one. There was only one wire I had to reposition.
espo Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Glad to see you got your plug wires out of the way. My suggestion was to bring them upward at a 90 degree angle to the distributer cap like the OEM and then back along the upper edge of the heads.

It ended up not being anything major but I appreciate the suggestion.

Zippi Posted October 25, 2021 Author Posted October 25, 2021 I did a trail fit this morning and everything looks good so far. All 4 wheels are touching the ground so that's always a +. Next is to get the body, hood, and grille to all line up before glueing.

Zippi Posted October 26, 2021 Author Posted October 26, 2021 I taped up the body, hood, and grille to the frame to get it all aligned and glued the body & grille in place. Also got a little detail work done on the firewall. Man....that is getting a little to small for my shaky hands to paint. That's a good as I can do.

Zippi Posted October 26, 2021 Author Posted October 26, 2021 Starting to take shape. I think tomorrow I'll make my mind up on the decals to apply and get it done.
Zippi Posted October 26, 2021 Author Posted October 26, 2021 Ok....think I'm done for the day. I've got it looking like a pickup truck.
