Ironically, one of the ads that occasionally pops up for me on this site is for an adblocker.

I don't remember which one it advertised but I thought that that ironically was funny.

I use Brave browser. It's based off of Chrome but has an ad block built in. I never see any ads. It's especially useful when browsing YouTube.

Yeah, ad blocker for the win! I recently had to get a new laptop and after installing and transferring everything from my old one I forgot about ad blocker. My God! I didn't realise how bad the internet has got with adverts since I installed it over ten years ago. It was bad then, but boy, it's almost impossible to use without it today. On some sites it would take me twenty minutes to type this from ads constantly popping up and needing to klick them out of the way!
