Great work on the Green Hornet Howard! Looks like you're packed and ready to roll! Love it! Great job on the luggage Erik, the Capri is coming along nicely! I need to figure some stuff  like that to throw in my ride. Nice work going on here guys! Thanx Pat for giving me the inspiration to start cutting. My first time at trying this.

Worked on the hood. drilled some holes and used some small wire to figure out some hooks for some tie down straps. I'll get back to that.

Wrapped the same wire around the trunk lid to try to simulate skeleton for a tarp.

Wrapped a few slices of aluminum foil, and painted flat black.

May try to clean it up a bit later. It does look pretty cool like that

Well time to get started on this project.

Finally got my kit in (Tamiya Skyline 2000 GT-R Hard Top).

This is the second one I ordered. My first one seems to have disappeared into the ether coming from Asia. It may still show up, someday, but after 3 months it's probably lost.

Construction will start on the weekend, but before that, I'll start 3D printing my accessories and modifications. Files are sliced and ready to go now.

First up, I'll be stripping back some of the interior (rear seat delete and package shelf). The files are for an R33 drift interior but I'll try to make them work for this. I couldnt find any reference shots of this car without a complete interior so I'll be taking some visual liberties for sure. I'm printing up 2 sets cause the first set I did for my R33 aren't as nice as I'd like so hoping this set turns out better, and I can have a set for this project as well.

Next up is the roll cage. For safety, I'm adding in a full roll cage (again same files as the R33). I'll modify them as needed to fit and I printed up some extra pieces just incase I needed some spare tubing.

Then I'll be printing up some wheels and tires ( I really wanted the Watanabe wheels and this version of the kit does not have them). Tires aren't period correct, but I haven't found a set I like yet or that looks perfect so these ones might just be temporary.

And lastly, the accessories. Roof rack, trunk rack, a service tarp, some rally style lights, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, some duffle bags and a fuel cell. I'll see how this all looks once mocked up and figure out what else I might add for detail.

Colour will likely be silver like the box art. Most of these cars were silver or white. I've seen pics of blue and orange ones as well but I'm pretty sure those were restorations done with new colours. One change I will make is most of the chrome will be done in black, since I'm not a huge chrome fan, and I've seen some versions of the car with blacked out chrome and it looks miles better.

Tried some of this milliput stiff to fashion some sleeping bags. First time I've used it. I think they're a little big, may try to make some smaller.

Made a lip for the trunk lid and got some paint on the interior, covered the holes in the hood, didn't like that. And semi glossed the tarp, may try to weather it up a bit later.

Filled in that little trunk with some evergreen, I'll flock that up. Trying some new things on this.

Yea, I broke the bumper bracket off. Lost it. I'll try to make another out of something. Broke one of the front ones too but still have it. Clumsy!

I saw a vid a while back on detailing military tanks and they covered that method. Great stuff.

I've been dealing with some health stuff so I've done limited bench work but now that I'm a bit better I want to get back into the swing.

Yesterday I stretched the Beetle chassis to fit the KG body. It was less work than I expected really, but revealed the remaining work needed.

The rear interior section fits fairly well but isn't wide enough. I think I'll cut the upper portions of the interior panels, and the seat bottom (it sits too high), and start fabricating new panels because they need to be wider, and come forward to abut the door panels. As a matter of fact, I think I'll extend them forward to the dashboard.

I may need to also open out the engine compartment, as its more open than the Beetle compartment. I'm not sure if I need that level of accuracy though. It might even make more sense just to fab, or design and print a new one. I'll take that a step at a time.

Folks, I'm sorry if I've been a bit of an absentee organizer here. I believe that anyone who starts an CBP, should be active and involved in the thread and posting frequently to help keep people interested and engaged. Due to the new job and work on the farm, my build time has been very limited. And when that happens I tend to focus on one particular build that I'm most interested in. I'll try harder to be more involved here. Build on.

Youse guys have got some cool stuff going.

Still no actual "work" on my diecast bullet-nose Studebaker conversion, but I do have a game plan for correcting the worst of the proportion and line issues that bother me on the model I'm starting with, plus a possible source for sponsorship decals.

And I found a set of appropriate mud-and-snows, some steel wheels, and started drawing up a front skid-plate and bullbar.

Going to take little car to the shop tomorrow or Monday and start die-grinder work on the body. Brutal but effective...though with my current time constraints, I may have to show up for the "race" in primer.

I'm still working on the 7, I think the worst thing I've got left are the photoetch seat belts. Otherwise it's just detail painting and final assembly.

I'm calling this one done. I just need to put on the tag and figure out some cargo netting but that may be a minute. This is the Tamiya Lotus 7 with the Cosworth 2.0 yb engine from a Monogram IMSA Mustang. The wheels are from Fujimi and the tires are American Satco and MRC. The cooler and generator are from a diecast diorama set and the bags are military stowage.

It's a surprisingly tough fit considering how common this engine is in the 1:1 cars. I ended up cutting the head off and turning it around to get the intake on the left side where there was more room. The exhaust manifold was also hard because of the extended footwell on the right side. If I had been building a normal track car I would have turned the exhaust out right in front of the footwell and continued it like the stock parts but I wanted to do something else.

The 7 turned out great Brian! I had to fab my cooler out of evergreen sheet, couldn't find one anywhere. I got some things done on the Plymouth. Flocked the trunk floor.

Blacked the dash then just scraped it and used a silver pen. Did it at the shop so I kind of had to rush it.

Fixed the bumper brace with plastic strips

Got more done where it can start pulling everything together. I'll get pics up in a bit

Boy I like the wheels and tires you put under that Ace, gives it a beefier look. I'm getting closer to getting this done. Most all the parts.

Small hoorays on my Ghia.

Finally got the VW kit engine surround and accompanying rear seat to fit.

I had to cut out the sides of the engine compartment for the wider Ghia but still need to fill the leftover holes.

I also got the wheels to fit between the body. I was intent on using the kit wheel mounts with the wheels I printed, so out came the grinder. After a lot of refitting I got them to work so that the wheels would turn without interference.

The convertible boot is from the Revell Z8 kit, cut in half and narrowed.

Well, got the chassis and interior work done. Just got to finish up some body work and we'll be ready to go.
