Ol' SKWALRLY am more of a 'bratwurst burner'-from the ol' country. Geez, I gots enuff turble with 'im as it is........if'n him feelings get too hurt he gonna go have another fling with ol' Led Well sirs, I hadta take some new pics of some recent work I done....... Fabbed up a startem up for ol' SKWIRLY's 4banger. Thar it be, in position. Still needs some 'machining'. Been using up parts outa the big box of 1/8 Big Duece I got from Deetroit. Dat main housing fer the starter is from the Big Duece rear axle. Gonna plant some power cable in that 'hole' on top back to a receptickle so's when he's all juiced up we'll just plug him in and start crankin' 'til he starts or blows up. Don't know why, but got the oily pan all shipshaped, and added some built up glue drops to stimulate blot heads around the flange, and added the start of him oil plugem up tube which gets trimmed down closer to the pan & mebbe I'll put a plug in it..........& mebbe not It's all gonna be coverd up with his skid plate anyhowso........ Yeah, right, I just had to........ scratch me a hex head oil plug for ol' SLKWIRRLY. Me LHS has bolts even smaller than the ones I got there already fer mountin' the 4banger up, and SKWIRLS just had to have 'em . Just a FYI: that there li'l old bolt is 1/8" long (threaded part)- --only 5/32" long overall, and the threads are only 1/32" diameter. The stryreney thingee in my hand wit' dat li'l ol' blot am SKEWIRLLY's starter 'Bendix', and........ it mounts up likes so....... and thusly, with dat big ol' startem up sittin' nice & purty on top the block. But wait! Cain't have no hi-powered ol' SLWILRLY starter just sittin on top of el blocko. It gotta have a bracket So I started fabbin' one up. Here'm the bracket afore the final cut. Here'm the parts all ready fer assemblages. Thar she be! All bolted down in place. If'n any of yinz wants to go as crazy as me....... He gonna help us form up some valve coverlets fer the 4. Thanky kindly Buck. ahh.........flame..........ahh........ WHOA! cool weirdness! Way cool how the ink or paint on the 'FOR SALE' sign seperated or varigated........or whatever! Yup, heated a hunka the sign over the flame, and rammed it down over Buck, sliced it free and sanded some dem ruffs off'n the bottom....... and set valve coverlet #1 in place. Nah, just some hunks of sprue or maybe some exhausted pipes off'n a 1/8 Deurce? whatever Intake tuber #1 bended & inserted----3 more to go Li'l behind the scenes showin ya'll a tuber in the throes of a bending We want to be next! Bend us! Bend us! See haow happy SWLKIRLLY is? Him gots all 4 for his 4bangin ground scrapin VW powersplant all set in places waiting for final convigorations. Gottsa fab some flanges to weld to the tubers so's they can bolt down to the head... with them 1/32 X 5/32 bolts torqued to .014 footpounders. uh huh.........flange uno lookin' oakley doakley. Got the tuber top ends trimmed for to start fittin to a plentious plenum or blower or (goodly grief!) couple scratchem upped 4 barrells ........and first bolt in. Filing one of 4 intake tuber flanges for the 4banger Drilling hole thru flange for bolt for flange for intake tuber for 4banger for SKWIRLS All tubered up & blotted down Now we's movin' on up. Fabbin' bottom plate of top of intaker manifold where the SKWIRLS blower gonna be sittin'. (I gotta resist the urge to drill out them ports & polish 'em up & @ ) First welds applied and li'l bit of weight set on for the setting up. Lots more welding to go.
