Jon Haigwood Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Working on a couple T.R.O.G. builds for a local build-off and thinking about putting them on a trailer and pulling it with a vintage (30's, 40's, 50's) heavy duty truck. Are there any kits that would have suitable truck , C.O.E. maybe ?
espo Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 There used to be a Die Cast Roll Back style truck with a cab that looked like a prewar COE. Maybe a scratch built two car flatbed trailer with a fifth wheel goose neck on a '34 or '37 Ford pickup with a flatbed instead of a pickup bed.
stitchdup Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 If you're not worried about using an american truck, emhar do a really nice bedford that wouldn't look out of place. It has a slight early international look to it. I've added a pic of the long wheelbase but there are other shorter versions too 1
64SS350 Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Ron at RMR has a good selection of trucks and COEs. Check his site and email with request. 1

Fat Brian Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 I'm using a set of Ford AA wheels from Scenes Unlimited and a Monogram 29 Ford pickup to make a wrecker/tow vehicle for an early salt flats car. 1

Ace-Garageguy Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 (edited) There are quite a few vintage COE cabs in resin available through eBay and other sources, not hard to find with a little effort. Mount the cab on a later-model COE chassis, and you get the best of both worlds: classic truck looks with more pulling power and reliability. 1:1 guys do it frequently.
