Ive Got a large stash of brass, copper, and nickel rod, tubes and other odd shapes - snagged over decades - sometimes i put stuff away and it disappears - because yup - forgot where i put it - after a furious search of the workbench nooks and crannies i found my super small brass channel - it measures about .032 x .032 - with a channel of about .012 - perfect to hold some .010 clear plastic ….

The  bracket will be glued under the cowl - like this - and the two brass posts are then slid in from the inside  - i noticed that the assembly is not quite spec - it should be a little wider - but ive got a fix that …

There are friction shocks front and back …. I convinced Brad to cast these parts seperatedly - a tricky exercise - each shock has three plates - and each plate has different features - i managed to glue these together with epoxy - so they pivot - that will allow precise location to the mounting points on the frame and the leaf spring …

The leaf springs come to life w some Zero Paints airbrushed steel over Alclad black, and GSW chrome - then the axle cradle is hit w some Tamiya semi-gl black  - then the bolts get some GSW chrome - the finish on the water pump shows the contrast with the steel finish on the springs … based on the early returns - the Zero Paints metal finishes seem to withstand handling during assembly …. I think the GSW Paints will lose some lustre if handled alot …

Per the last picture - The reinforcement on the rear quarter of the frame interferes with the transxle case - so i had to open a great big hole in the frame casting and modify the case - the opening is not visible once the tail is on the frame - but i was hoping not to have to make any major corrections at this point of the build - the casing has to spec so that the axles sit in the cradle of the leaf springs - or else ..

Now its time to knock off the ridges of green paint - time to add the dark green paint to the body … this was done with some fine sanding sticks - the masking tape just above the lines kept the work of the sticks to the edges of the paint -
