Jhedir6
Coming up on the last weekend of January is the 16th Annual 24Hrs of Daytona group build on Facebook. For anyone who might be interested in participating please follow the link over to the Facebook group and sign up. Pretty sure we're up over 100 entries again this year. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1932049600326810 Last year, due to Covid, the Canadian race teams that normally travel to the US for the IMSA races couldn't travel with the lock downs so a new Canadian series was created. The Sports Car Championship Canada kicked off its first season with 6 race weekends consisting of 2 sprint races each weekend for a total of 12 races. Multimatic Motorsports entered one of the Ford Mustang GT4's, driven by new-comer Marco Signoretti, and they went on to not only win the Championship, but managed to sweep the series going 12-0. So for 2022's 24 Hr build I'll be doing Marco's championship car. I'll be using Tamiya's stellar Mustang GT4 kit and the just released decals for the Multimatic car from Racing 43 Decals. Paint will be mostly Tamiya LP's since they dry up very quickly when airbrushed. I also ordered Studio 27's CF decals set for the Mustang, so most of my race will be consumed with decals.....I am a glutton for punishment. The winning car: The kit: The decals. First update will be after the start of the race on Saturday January 29th, so about 10 days from now. But for now, a few teaser pics. Mattilacken
Nice! Good idea to chose a Tamiya kit for such a build! Really nice livery!
Jhedir6
Started my project at the start of the race so time for update 1. I started at the start of the race (official start time is 12noon your time zone), but I prefer to build flag to flag. Just over 2hrs in and I'm off to the paint booth. There are a lot of parts to clip and prep for primer and paint so it takes some time. So a quick shot of the forest before primer. sorry for the dark shot, one of my overhead lights crapped out on me this morning and no time to replace it. Update in a couple hours, I want to get the primer and paint done then I can move onto the decal work. I meant to put this thread in the racing section so if a mod wouldn't mind moving it at some point, I'd appreciate it.

Jhedir6
Update 2: Most of the large decals are done, then onto the smaller sponsorship decals and markings. The complex corners have really eaten up a ton of time, so no CF decals. I'm hoping to have all the decals done in another hour or so then off to clear. More in a few hours I hope.
wrenchr
Looking real good. I was watching the race at the start but these no sleep Saturdays caught up to me and I passed out around 4:00pm. Darn night shift...
