carsntrucks4you Posted February 8, 2022 Author Posted February 8, 2022 Here the first picture of this build. The Mack 6 spoke rims WD31 from Auslowe are too wide for this truck. I have to get some out of the Ertl/amt Mack DM/R Series or get some from AITM.
carsntrucks4you Posted February 8, 2022 Author Posted February 8, 2022 Comparing the log trailer from Auslowe with the Peerless from amt I have to say that the one from Auslowe is far better than the old Peerless. amt should redo the molds of it.
gotnitro? Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 Nice setup ! The log trailer is much improved over the peerless Suggestion for the wide wheels, could you use the wheel backs from a paystar instead of the auslow inner ones for more space ?

I try to reduce the width of the inner wheel back about 4 mm. Hope it works
Oldmopars Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Don’t bother with the MPC DM800 wheels, they are also way to wide. I had to cut down the axles to get them into a reasonable width.
carsntrucks4you Posted February 10, 2022 Author Posted February 10, 2022 (edited) I had ordered some from Mo'aluminum. Hope that they fit better than the Auslowe's wheels. Edited February 18, 2022 by carsntrucks4you
carsntrucks4you Posted February 18, 2022 Author Posted February 18, 2022 (edited) All air line fittings are now installed and first layer of primer attached. Next will be the wiring job on the frame and the jinker. To be continued Edited February 18, 2022 by carsntrucks4you
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 Excellent work! Looking forward to seeing more!
Mopar - D Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 Looking good Michael what are you going to use for your wiring?

Bennyg Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 Great progress! Looking forward to seeing paint on it. Ben
carsntrucks4you Posted February 20, 2022 Author Posted February 20, 2022 First paint on frame and cab. Still waiting for Intercooler conversion and correct Mack 6 spoke wheels.
carsntrucks4you Posted February 26, 2022 Author Posted February 26, 2022 I found some other Auslowe Mack rims that fit. They have the same number WD43 like the bigger ones. It seems that they are wrong labeled. Next will be a repainting of the cab with the slightly brighter yellow of the hood.
carsntrucks4you Posted March 8, 2022 Author Posted March 8, 2022 (edited) I found some rims that work great for the Mack. Next will be adding wires for air and diesel lines. I had added an intercooler conversion set from Auslowe. Edited March 8, 2022 by carsntrucks4you
