Carving from wood - this is real modeling, Gary - what i have done is just assembling factory-made parts.

Gary You have shown us a lot of outstanding models, Gary - wish I could contribute more (have 2 more LeMans winners, but not built by myself, and some yet unbuilts in my stash) - the 1949 Barchetta is also excellent.

I had a few more to post but they were already done. And in going through my stash I found even more I haven't done yet. And I am really envious of your Ferrari winners. I have a couple but but there are gaps that you have filled with your hand carved ones. That was above my talent skills. 2
1959scudetto Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 (edited) Here are two more Le Mans winners - both from Le Mans miniatures - not built by myself, but factory-built. An online shop had these on sale for a reasonable price (about half the price of the resin kit), so I went for it: The 1972 winning Matra MS 670, driven by Henri Pescarolo/Graham Hill: and 20 years later (1992). the Peugeot 905 Evo 1 Bis, driven by Yannick Dalmas/Derek Warwick/Mark Blundell: I could never have built these two so well . Gramps46 Posted April 7, 2022 Author Posted April 7, 2022 The Sauber C9 is simply amazing. Tells more about the kit.

tmathew1us Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Great thread, guys, one of my favorite subjects, I am a huge 24 hours of Le Mans fan. 24 hours of Le Mans Overall Winners in my unbuilt kit stash (by year, from top to bottom) 1931 1966 1967 1968/1969 1990 1991 2018/2019/2020 2
tmathew1us Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 On the bench currently on the bench 1984/1985 winner Porsche 956 Newman/Joest racing
tmathew1us Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Completed winners by year in correct winning livery (from top left to top right, then bottom left to bottom right; all are styrene 1:24 kits) 1964 - 1970 - 1978 - 1981 - 1982 1986 - 1989 - 1992 - 2006 2
1959scudetto Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 Very impressive collection, Tom - the Peugeot 905 seems to be the heavily reworked Heller Kit which has been reissued by Airfix and Gunze-Sangyo. Am I right?

Gramps46 Posted April 9, 2022 Author Posted April 9, 2022 Tom, welcome to this group of LM addicts. Your collection is outstanding especially for actually building the Heller 905 Evo. I started one and never finished it. Recently bought a Hachette diecast instead. Your Jules 936 is very interesting too and your stash looks pretty familiar.

As we know, some of these Le Mans winners in 1:24 are easy to come by, some are not, and many are simply not available in this scale. I think its possible to collect every winner in diecast in 1:43rd, but that's just not as much fun! Speaking of which, the 905 Evo is not for beginners, or intermediates, or anyone who wants to retain their sanity. The 936 was pretty straightforward, just converting to the right decals. Actually the livery is very simple, modelers could easily make the decals themselves. Here is the beginning...

Thanks, Giovanni La Rosa Hi Giovanni, I ordered these from: https://www.modelissimo.eu/ - but that was in 2016, and they had only a few pcs. left (back then)
Brudda Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Let’s see, this qualifies as a LM winner. Ford GT 1969. This is a big one. DeAgostini 1/8 scale. I have a few lm winner kits in 1/25-24, but never got around to build them. Love the builds here. All of them are great! 1
Gramps46 Posted May 3, 2022 Author Posted May 3, 2022 Thank you for sharing this with us Bruce. I need to go back to your WIP thread to see how it really went together. It is hard to appreciate the size without other objects for comparison. The details are pretty amazing.
