Have you ever tried to build one in brass? I know it's more difficult but with your talent I think you have what it takes. Don't see any pressure there, I'm just curious. ? I should add that I have lost track of the number of times I thought "Why didn't I just scratchbuild this dadgum thing?!"? That's so much more fun than cleaning up mold lines!
Straightliner59 Posted June 4, 2022 Author Posted June 4, 2022 Building a blower and injector...The injector is cast nail resin, drilled for brass rod fittings. I'm going to run "rubber" hoses. The plate is .010" Evergreen. The allen heads are wire insulation. Next up, I'll work on the fuel valve. Thanks for looking! 2

Ian McLaren Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Sorry for not commenting on this build till now, moving to a new city pretty much used up the last two months. I'm really liking this project, great workmanship and the extra photos of the nostalgia car and your brass work were great. Well done Daniel

I got distracted by another model I've had sitting around, so I haven't got back to this one, yet. I've kind of been thinking about that new body for the NFD. It should be a piece of cake--I already have the patterns for the panels just by flattening the soft ones out and copying them onto flashing. It really would be a cool model! Where did you move to? When I was a kid, we used to get to Lethbridge, fairly regularly. I've always loved Canada. Beautiful place!
Straightliner59 Posted April 6 Author Posted April 6 Now that the Badman's done, I've been looking at stuff around the shop, and this thing has me a little interested. I've also been playing with my '53 Corvette curbside project, and the photo backdrop, although mostly the Corvette. I could go either way. It might be fun to make a working rack and pinion steering setup, for this! 1
Vettegasser Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Like to see that dragster done. Still plugging along to. My Garlits car. Too many toys I get distracted. Start something new. I’m bouncing around about a dozen projects right now 1
rv1963 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Looks like a very interesting project, I like the work you have done on the supercharger. 1
