Lyle Willits Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Welcome back Jeff. Hope you're doing well. Very nice model. Sometimes, keeping it simple allows you to relax and enjoy the fun of modelling.
MrObsessive Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Hi Jeff! Good to see ya back! Nice lookin' Impala! I ditto what Lyle said------that worked for me recently when I had modeling slump. I built a simple little 1/43rd kit which was sitting for years........in fact, I'd like to make simple builds a part of my routine in the future.
lonewolf Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 WOW. Even your "simple" builds look cleaner and crisper than most. Again, welcome back.
fordh8r Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I like it! This is a very nice build even with the detailing that was done. Simple builds are good for getting you out of that "bit off more than you can chew" sorta feeling. Even a simple build as you stated can be good relaxing practice for a more detailed build.
Harry P. Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Man, that's gorgeous! We should all have our "simple" builds look that good!
Randy Kern Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Beautiful, clean, cherry build there, Jeff! Glad to see you're back at the bench, and hope to catch up with you at a meeting or show.
Raul_Perez Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Jeff, I too am glad to see you back at it!! Your prior work is simply AWESOME!! This is pretty nice for a "mostly" out of the box build!! Thanks for sharing,
plumnuts Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I understand the whole bunt out thing. started building two at a time. one custom chop er up and modify, the other mostley stock relax type. jump back and forth and seems to help with the don't want to build syndrom. very clean work and definatly my kind of build.
gilsdropshop1 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 clean machine love it, great job, nice stance
carrucha Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Cool Impala. The nice simple details you added like the fender skirts and antennas really enhance this old simple kit. I also take time off from modeling to "recharge my batteries". If building a model feels more like work than recreation, then it's time to take a break from building. I find that a nice simple model like this one is good for polishing up your modeling skills after a long break. carrucha
Luis Ayala Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Hi Jeff, hope everything is well. Good to see you around again !!!!!!!!! Your work is always outstanding. I love Impalas and this one is just BEAUTIFUL !!!!!! I was also away from my workbench for almost a year too. Sometimes is better just to step out for a while and start over. Hope to see more projects soon!!!!!!!!!!
bsoder Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 No "rust" there!!...thats a fine lookin' Chevy
Peter Lombardo Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Well....It's about time man. Seriously though, very nice looking Chevy. You just can't go wrong building a classic like the '64. Very smooth and to the point. I have a '64 that I started somewhere around here, I need to find it and finish it after looking at yours.
DR Dubois Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 That is one gorgeous Chevy, especially for such a lousy kit. Well done!
Classic Plastic Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Nice return! But, IMO the build was blown with those Donker type wheels. Not realistic at all!
Lownslow Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Nice return! But, IMO the build was blown with those Donker type wheels. Not realistic at all! you and your third dimensions
Wildrice Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Looks good. Those cars can be a BMF nightmare.
