Paul Payne Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Looking forward to more, and thanks for the pix of other hot rod Lincolns! 1
landman Posted July 4, 2022 Author Posted July 4, 2022 Cobbled something that could pass for a front suspension.
landman Posted July 11, 2022 Author Posted July 11, 2022 So the engine crosmember ended up further back. Next is to fit a driveshaft.
landman Posted July 11, 2022 Author Posted July 11, 2022 I am leaning hard towards the metallic green. Wouldn't be too flashy for this type of car.
landman Posted July 11, 2022 Author Posted July 11, 2022 Scrounged a '67 Mustang console. The hose nib of a Fujimi shopvac will make a nice shifter boot. 2

Big John Posted July 11, 2022 Posted July 11, 2022 (edited) Yes indeed the 1941 Zephyr has got to be one of the sleekest cars of the vintage era! Perfect project for the Ardun 12. I am partial to blue but the metallic green is pretty sharp too. Looking forward to seeing it come together. Edited July 11, 2022 by Big John

David G. Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Nice progress on this. I think the green will look great, maybe with some white accents. David G.

landman Posted July 19, 2022 Author Posted July 19, 2022 I broke the windshield frame repeatedly, so I cut it off and will try to adapt this one. The centre trim piece wasn't reuseable so I put a wire in the groove.
slusher Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Real nice shade of green Pat, maybe that windshield frame will work for you..
David G. Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Excellent idea to use the wire as a trim piece. David G. 1
landman Posted July 24, 2022 Author Posted July 24, 2022 Interior is coming along. it looks like the experimental green I had put on the back seat is bleeding through.
landman Posted July 24, 2022 Author Posted July 24, 2022 Pieces of rod and tubing will make a steering column and a flat headed pin will make a turn signal lever.
landman Posted July 25, 2022 Author Posted July 25, 2022 Some filing/shaping will be required to use that windshield. And...the car is already painted. Wish me luck. 1
David G. Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 Good progress, I'm interested to see how you work the windshield frame into this one. David G.

slusher Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 You should have this Pat, you have pulled off much harder situations…

landman Posted July 27, 2022 Author Posted July 27, 2022 Another piece of wire for the nose of the hood.
landman Posted August 1, 2022 Author Posted August 1, 2022 (edited) The finishing details were a challenge. Either I am too old, I am getting clumsy or it wasn't a good idea but I kept dropping, breaking or otherwise making a mess. The license plate says Poifect but the end result is far from it. However I imagine an Ardun V12 in a car this heavy would be something to contend with. Edited August 1, 2022 by landman 1
Big John Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 some days are just like that an you got to know when to fold them and walk away. Very Nice job all the same Pat. The injected Ardun V12 would definitely make it jump. 1
